Reunion

3rd POV

Back at the farm we see the sun beginning to rise. On the porch steps are Grace and Lily. Meanwhile their mother stands slightly in front of them eagerly watching the road. Two silhouettes come over the hill. The mother gasps seeing them come into focus. 

Y/N POV

We  go over a hill as Heather's mother and her sisters come running to us. They all envelop Heather in a tight hug. Her mother grabs her cheeks crying tears of happiness.

Woman: "I'm so glad you're safe."

Grace: "Welcome back."

Lily: "We missed you."

She smiles picking Lily up.

Heather: "I missed you too."

Their mother walks to me.

Woman: "Thank you."

Y/N: "No worries mam."

Beatrice: "Please, call me Beatrice."

Y/N: "Beatrice."

Her eyes wander downwards. I close my coat covering my chest.

Beatrice: "What's wrong with your chest?"

Y/N: "Nothing. Just got cold."

Beatrice: "Oh. Then come inside and get warmed up."

I head inside going to my room. Opening my coat I see a scar from where I was impaled.

Y/N: "Strange. I've never had a scar before."

I lightly trace it.

Y/N: "Oh well."

I get fully dressed. Once I am I head outside where I see the family setting up a horse.

Y/N: "What're you doing?"

Beatrice: "Setting you up a horse."

Y/N: "Why?"

Heather: "It's the least we could do. Consider it as thanks for all your help."

Y/N: "Thanks."

I saddle up and grab the reigns. 

Grace: "Here. You'll need this."

I reach out grabbing a map. I place it in the saddlebag. Lily tugs my pant leg. I hoist her up sitting her on the saddle.

Lily: "Are you leaving us now?"

Y/N: "Fraid so."

Lily: "Will you come back and visit us?"

Y/N: "I can't say for sure."

Lily: "Well if you do we'll be waiting for you."

Y/N: "I expect a hot meal then."

Lily: "It'll be the hottest meal known to Remnant!"

We laugh. Beatrice pulls her away holding her.

Y/N: "I wish you guys the best of luck."

Heather: "With the Quartz mob destroyed, we're likely in for smooth sailing."

Beatrice: "All thanks to you."

Lily: "Bye Y/N."

Y/N: "So long kid."

I tug the reigns making the horse turn. Then clicking them the horse gallops away. After some time we take shelter on a cliff overlooking a valley. I lay out the map looking it over.

Y/N: "Let's see. According to the map I should be somewhere around here. Meaning the nearest town should be Shion. If I keep my pace I should reach it in two days time."

I fold up the map looking at the horse.

Y/N: "Rest well. Cause we've got a long way to go."

It neighs. I lay next to the fire sighing at its warmth. 

Y/N: "Such sweet-"

I stop feeling my chest cramp. I lightly pound it when something tickles my throat. This makes me cough like an asthmatic. Instead of stopping I keep going to the point my entire chest rattles. I get brought to my hands and knees as I now begin to wheeze. After a good hack I spit up a small amount of blood. I sigh feeling infinitely better.

Y/N: "Must've been some of the smoke from the mansion."

I clear my throat sitting back on my butt. All that coughing wares down my eyes until I just fall asleep. A couple days later I finally arrive at the town of Shion. But getting there I see it completely in ruin. I hop off the horse heading inside the ruined town.

Ruby: "Y/N!!!!"

I'm tackled with a hug.

Ruby: "I was so worried about you."

I pat her back.

Ruby: "When Beacon fell we couldn't find you anywhere. We feared the worst."

Ren: "But we're glad you're okay."

Y/N: "Why're you guys out here?"

Jaune: "We're on our way to Haven. We hope to find out why Beacon was destroyed."

Nora: "Care to join us?"

I think.

Y/N: "Well I ain't got anything to do so why not? I'll join you kids."
