Party At The Docks

Y/N POV

It's a peachy Sunday morning. I walk down the street helping search for Blake. From what I heard her and Weiss got into a fight. Blake revealed she was a Faunus and was once part of the White Fang. This struck a deep rooted issue with Weiss whose family had trouble with them for years. The only reason I'm helping search is that Ruby said she'd pay me. Seeing that I'm strapped for cash I agreed to help.

Y/N: "That cat could be anywhere. It'll take days to search all of Vale. I'm gonna see if he knows where she could be."

I walk to the downtown area. Getting there I enter an abandoned warehouse. It's there I'm greeted by lots of White Fang.

Y/N: "Hello boys."

They all aim a gun at me. 

Voice: "Excuse me, move aside."

They part revealing Roman Torchwick.

Roman: "Y/N L/N. The immortal assassin."

Y/N: "Roman Torchwick. The biggest wanna be gangster."

He smiles as he shake hands while patting the other's back.

Roman: "Been a while since last we met."

Y/N: "Bout five years. She still around?"

I hear running footsteps. I'm then tackled into a hug. Looking down I smile.

Neo: *mouths* "I've missed you Y/N."

I rub her head.

Y/N: "I missed you too runt."

She pouts punching my chest. She then puffs out her cheek while crossing her arms.

Neo: "I'm not a runt anymore. As you can see I've grown up."

Y/N: "Unfortunately. God you were so cute when you were younger. What happened?"

She now silently hmphs while turning her head away from me.

Y/N: "Silent treatment eh? You're the grand champion at that."

She grits her teeth while stomping on my toes.

Y/N: "That didn't hurt."

Roman: "Alright enough bickering. What brings you by here?"

Y/N: "I wanna know if you've seen a Faunus girl. Black hair, dressed monochrome has amber eyes. I think she might have cat ears."

Roman places his hand on his chin thinking. 

Roman: "I don't recall seeing anyone matching that description. Sorry."

Y/N: "No worries."

Neo: "What's with the collar?"

Y/N: "I'm under house arrest."

Roman: "Damn, who caught you?"

Y/N: "Vale police. Got cornered and leapt off the edge killing myself. But when I awoke I get forced into attending a stupid school."

Roman: "There any way out?"

Y/N: "Ratting you out."

They become nervous.

Y/N: "Hey. I'll never rat you guys out. We're family."

They smile. The ground begins to rumble. I head outside to see a mushroom cloud at the docks. I run there to see Ruby and Blake fighting off some White Fang. I withdraw my daggers cutting open the stomach of one goon. Another skewers my side with a cutlass. I headbutt them out cold.

I yank out the cutlass when a spear cuts open chest. The owner goes for another slice when I flip over them. As I come down I plunge my daggers into their lower back. My ear perks up as footsteps come my way. I look over my shoulder as several goons skewer me with their swords.

I fall to my knees wheezing as blood fills my lungs. One more goon comes in close ready to cleave off my head. I scream in anger cutting deep into the side of their neck. Getting back to my feet I activate a semblance. My body emits lightning sending the swords everywhere. They soar impaling and pinning several goons to shipping containers. My wounds heal as Ruby walks to me.

Ruby: "You okay?"

I put my daggers away.

Y/N: "I'm fine."

I start to walk away when she grabs my arm.

Y/N: "What?"

She pulls out a small wad of Lien.

Ruby: "As promised here's the money I said I'd give you."

She puts it in my hand. I look at it to only see a grand total of twenty Lien.

Y/N: "This all you've got?"

Ruby: "Yes. It's all my savings."

I sigh internally handing her back her money.

Y/N: "Keep your money. Getting some steam out on this guys is payment enough."

She smiles.

Ruby: "I knew you were a good man."

I roll my eyes.

Y/N: "Are you always like this?"

She punches my arm. I blink unfazed

Y/N: "Why'd you do that?"

Ruby: "I don't like your attitude. And since you won't take my money I'd like a favor instead."

Y/N: "Pease god no."

Ruby: "From now on I want you to be a little bit nicer. Even if you have to fake it."

Y/N: "I'd rather die."

Ruby: "Please Y/N. For me?"

Y/N: "You're not gonna let this go are you?"

Ruby: "Nope."

Y/N: "Fine. I'll loosen up. But know I'm doing it so you'll leave me alone."

Ruby: "Whatever you need to tell yourself."

She walks away. I do too when I show a small smile. That kid.
