i can't seem to escape you

you've touched everything i see

in some way or other

i guess that's why 

i cried in an ihop bathroom

after seeing an old couple

having pancakes for dinner

i hoped one day 

we might do the same

or why i got angry when

i found those notes 

you left on the back of 

my favorite pictures of us

a reminder of a time 

we felt immortal

everything i loved

i shared with you

so that you could love it too

and now i hate
