I tilt my head
Trying to get a better view
Of the walls surrounding me
The room is large
With a creme and daffodil floor
If a room could have a texture
This room would be light,
Airy, fluffy even.
The beautiful room fills me
With a wonderful feeling i cannot explain.
I never want to leave this place.
It is beautiful.
I place my hands on my heart in amazement.
But my chest is wet.
I turn my hands over in shock as I watch a darkness deep from my heart seep and cover my shirt.
The tar like liquid climbs my limbs.
Covering my arms and legs. Crawling up my throat and masking my face.
The darkness seeps into my eyes.
It mixes with tears leaving me struggling to regain my sight.
But it is too dark for me to see
As the darkness crawls along the floor, up the walls. Fills the air.
The room is no longer bright, but an antonym.
I skim my fingers over the walls in vain
There are no switches
No lights
I am blind
I can only feel around me
Feel within me
It is as if I was drowning in air
I would not have known
Weather my eyes were open or closed in all this darkness
Had it not been for a glint near the farthest wall
That small blink of light
Became a dot
Then a rather large dot
And then you were holding me
You flooded the room with light
It was impossible to look at you
Your heart shone like the sun
But I could not tear my eyes
Away from such beauty
It seemed to pour from your chest
Your light pushed at the darkness and the darkness hissed away
You embrace me and the cold flees
My trembling body
The light seems to reach out and make my tears sizzle into nothing
Like butter in a frying pan
The tears nothing but a memory of where they had cut aged wrinkles into my skin.
Your arms sear my skin
But I don't think I've ever felt anything this amazing before.
I pull you closer
Sending God a mental prayer
Thanking him for you
And asking him to keep you close to me
I dont want the warmth to leave
I don't want you to leave me
And you lean down and whisper
In my ear
As if you heard my thoughts
"I promise."
