flower petals wilt
water runs cold
stars simply stop burning
songs play through
'till there's no more tunes

but me and you?
our flower never bloomed
the water stayed cold
the clouds covered the sky and the moon,

and when I played that song
and i and told you I loved you
you reached over and changed the channel

we never even had a chance

did we?
