I wake up
Eat some toast
Tie my hair in a knot
Slip my feet in my Chucks
I grab my bag off the floor
Leave the house, lock the door
With same clothes
On as yesterdayI walk in the downpour
Stray hairs plastered to my brow
Mud splatters my shirt
As the bus pulls up to my stop
I wipe my face
And trip up the stairs
As I find a seat
By myselfThe kids are too loud
And smell of mildew
From the rain
As we pull up to the school
I stand to leave
But others rush past
Shoving me backwards
Into the seat
I wait for them to leave
And I'm the last one offThe bell rings as I run
Coming through the threshold
Of first period chorus class
And everyone stares
Who wouldn't
I'm a sight
Soaked and covered in mud
My shoes not tied rightBut I try to ignore it
My head hanging low
As everyone whispers
And stares
I sure did put on a show
i sit by myself
And pull out my notes
Reviewing for my testStudents strategically sit
Forming a bubble around me
No one sits
Right beside, in front or behind
I focus on my work
Engaged with the words
Of the songs blaring through
My ear buds too loud
Ignoring the chatter around meBut then I feel
A hand on my shoulder
My teacher
He's an inexperienced kid
That's what the other
Teachers say about him
I say he's young
And still knows compassion
And empathy
He smiles and asks if I'm ok
I tell him I'm fine
And flash a half toothed grinHe shakes his head
Knowing it wasn't a real smile
Offering me his hand
He helps me up
And tells me
I can talk to him
At any time for anything
And pulls me into an embrace
His shirt is ruined
From the remains of mud
Off of mine
But he tightens his grip
And tells me that he's here
Any time i need a hug.☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Dramaticized for Impact
*for those of you who know the teacher I'm talking about*I just wanted to say thanks to my chorus teacher. He's always so kind to all of his students. He is fun and caring.
If you are having a bad day, he notices as soon as you walk through the door of his class. He will immediately come up to you and ask you whats up. He cheers you up and helps you turn your day around. He is like a councelor to the students, and (Don't take this the wrong way... not weird lol.)a father to the students without one. All of his students love him. I write this in appreciation. So thanks.
