5: MONKEY KING!

Mk and monkey king have been doing their almost daily training and you were kinda interested in how it goes, they do show it in the show but it would definitely look different closer up. Maybe you could ask Mk about meeting monkey king, that would atleast be a fun activity. Speaking of the male in question, he was actually not doing anything at the moment, well other than staring at the ceiling. "Hey mk, wanna do something?" Your question made Mk snap out if his daze and look over to your side of the room, his eyes finally landing on you. "Yeah .. or wait i cant, I need to practice my skills with monkey king soon" the boy looked down sad, as if he had just hurt your feelings. You could work with this "oh no it's okay! What is it like to fight with monkey king? Always wanted to see a fight up close.." looking from the boy up to the ceiling again, you breathe for a bit. You just needed to wait till he got the idea, and make him think its his idea. That way you wouldn't seem like a fangirl even though you totally are. "Wait, I think I have an idea!" The brunette exclaimed "go on" you encouraged him. "Well what if I take you to my training session today? Then you could see a "fight" up close" his fingers making quotation marks at the fight. Standing up from you position, you head over to the boy. "That would be awsome Mk!" Holding the boys hand, smiling very excited to meet demon monkey number 2. "Yeah! Then i can introduce the two of you, i am sure monkey king would love you" letting go of the males hand you smile, you knew what he meant. Hopefully he wasn't saying it just to cheer you up. "Its settled then, i shall meet the great monkey king" you were trying to imitate how old people talk, and you did earn a giggle from Mk. "Onwards then" Mk tried the imitation aswell. The both of you heading out of your little apartment, walking down the stairs. You could see pigsy in the kitchen, probably making some noodles."me and Mk are heading out pigsy! See ya around" and with that farewell both you and Mk were out the door. "So Mk how are we going to get there?" Looking at the boy in question, he looked really confident in whatever he was going to answer. "By staff ofcourse" showing off his magical staff as if it were some cool toy. "Yeah... we could do that, but i dont know how I am going to get to the island then" Mk looked confused now " by staff ofcourse?" Looking at him cautiously you try to think of a way to not end up in a bag by the end of the day. "Well i dont know if I can hold on to it long enough, like what if I fall off-" getting cut off by a finger to your mouth "don't worry I will hold on tight, it's okay to be afraid of heights" taking your hand and beginning to stand in position "that's not what I meant-" and off you were, maybe you WERE afraid of heights, because this was scary. Like one of those free fall Rollercoasters instead this is real life and if you fell down, you would definitely die.

The blues in the sky was the only thing you were focusing on right now, mainly because all other places reminds you of all the possibilities there is of falling. Looking at the clouds that was a bit too close for your likings moving together with Mk and you, exept you guys were way faster. Tightening your grip on Mk, you move your other hand that was currently not holding on to anthing and wrap it around Mk. This didn't go unnoticed by Mk and despite the huge sound alteration when moving in such speed, you could hear Mk beside you. "Dont worry we are almost there y/n" atleast this was over soon. Finally looking "down" you see a small island surrounded with fire, you were guessing that it was the final destination of this. It looked really small, now you were scared of the landing. 'It is going to be okay i am totally not going to die' closing your eyes as you feel the wind going against you skin in a diffrent direction, taking in slow breaths you embrace for impact, the speed is picking up. Breathe in and out y/n in and out, taking a final breath to hold you wait for impact. Suprisingly you didn't feel much after, except for Mk taking you in bridal style in the end, and then you had landed on the soft sand ground. Opening your eyes you begin to feel dizzy, stumbling around for a few seconds before you finally stand up normally, looking up at the male you blurt out a "I am never doing that again" Mk looked at you amused "Dont worry y/n you will learn to tolerate it eventually" rolling your eyes at him "bold of you to assume i will ever agree to this again" the teenager started walking ahead of you, smiling like a happy child. "Trust me once you have met monkey king you will totally want to come" he spoke true words, if you were to have a good day today, then you might consider. You didn't die, catching up to Mk you start your compromise. "Okay if me and monkey king do get along, I would probably BUT we should think of other ways to get here" the island was pretty, alot of different trees with diffrent sizes. "The staff is the quickest and cheapest option!" Mk argued back. Looking around you could already see some monkeys in the trees looking down at you, probably checking the new person that came along with Mk. "Yeah but not the safest! What if I fall?" This seemed to make Mk think, but of course not for long, he had already come up with a "solution" to the problem " I promise I will hold onto you tight" giving you a thumb up you internally facepalm at that statement. "Okay Mk but only if you promise" you smile, knowing this is a losing battle. You have walked for a while now, how long would you have to walk more "Hey Mk are we there yet?" Looking at you he waved a dismissive hand "on top of the hill we are almost there" the greens blended nice, but you would love a break. The rest of the way was just small talk and you staring at a few of all the monkeys that were staring at you. Here it was, the top! Finally you could take a break. "So Mk is it here?" You ask, "Yeah just behind this waterfall" how cool you were going to see the whole splitting water scene. You still had to pretend that you didn't know exactly what he was doing, he has only talked about it a little. Staying behind him, you see him reaching his hands up to the water fall, the water around his hands turning yellow, and then there came a symbol. Then the water separated making a passage, putting his hand down he looks back at you " ready to meet him?" Suddenly can feel yourself get nervous, walking in together with Mk you look at all the pretty murals. "Hey Mk?" You ask. "Yeah" looking away from him you ask your question "what if monkey king doesn't like me?" You were getting more and more nervous. Feeling pressure on you shoulder you look up at Mk "Dont worry, you got this" giving you the thumps up, you hear him take a deep breath "MONKEY KING! I HAVE SOMEONE WHO WANTS TO MEET YOU" his voice was loud, and you could hear the echo. The many echos was bouncing of the walls, when his voice was hitting the rocks in the cave. Nothing really happend, very anti climatic. Looking for clues on what to do now you look up at Mk. "Maybe he is not here?" You say almost asking yourself that question. Looking around again you see nothing but cave and old murals. Looking back you see a monkey, looking back you see a monkey? Jumping up in suprise and moving away slightly from the close up monkey, you then hear a laugh. It wasn't Mk he was beside you, looking like what you would say was amused. Locating the noise, you know it came from somewhere up and sure enough on a cloud was the one and only monkey king. "Sorry kid, but you should have seen your face" laughing even more, you look over at Mk almost asking what to do. Should you laugh aswell, or is Mk going to introduce you. "Monkey king, i would like to introduce you to y/n, y/n this is monkey king" the male on the cloud floating down to be infront of you, then the cloud dissappeard into thin air and left is, him..... staring at you. "Pleasure to meet you monkey king" you say extending your hand to offer a handshake. He gladly accepted your offer, giving you a nice firm handshake. "Thank you kid, pleasure to meet you to!" Smiling to you, you could see his fangs as well, not exactly like macaques but very similar. "Y/n is here to see you and me train! They really love fighting tactics" Mk explained to the monkey demon. 'Not really Mk' you couldn't care about the tactics, you just loved to see a fight in the sidelines, and see the whole thing between some of your favorites was a definite thing on your internal bucket list. Not that you were kicking the bucket soon, not in this world atleast. "Yeah, I love the whole tactics" you say, atleast it hasn't been akward yet. Monkey kings eyes land back on you "really? Would you like to demonstrate some fighting styles then?" The monkey being laid back did not help you to try and execute a lie. "No, I really just came to watch you and Mk fight, really! Don't worry about me" touching the hem of your shirt, you were way to lazy for that. "Whatever you say bud, are you ready Mk?" What did he mean by that? Whatever lets just follow him for now, you will find out eventually. Getting to an open space outside of the cave, you head to a comfortable sitting spot and sit down. Looking at the two males who already treated themselves with a battle, Mk was currently playing offense in the fight. Although he was very fast, especially compared to you, he did not land a single hit. They really know how to fight, along the way monkey king gave Mk advice and tricks to help him learn the fighting techniques that monkey king had. You reminded yourself to make sure you packed water and snacks next time, it looked exhausting to train on end. There was no way you were going to be witness, to a fainted Mk because he needed hydration. You could bring stuff to monkey king as well, as a thank you gift. It's not all of your friends that have a mentor, not to mention a literal legend as a mentor.
