Taylor blinked, suddenly realising she was moving. Wasn't she just sitting in a bed a moment ago?

She looked down and could just barely make out the colour of the shoes she was in. Lilac. She did not own a pair of lilac shoes, so, why was she wearing lilac shoes? They were oddly soft and spongy. She moved her toes around and dug her foot into the carpet under her, letting out a small giggle when the shoes squeaked.

"My shoes just farted," she announced, giggling harder.

"They do that when they're made of rubber," Kaia explained, pointing at the pair of Crocs Taylor was wearing.

Taylor jumped back, taken by surprise by the voice coming from behind her. She turned around abruptly only to find that she was strapped to her chair.

"I'm tied to this chair. Why am I tied down? I'm tied down. What—" Taylor started pulling at the strap keeping her in place when she heard snickers.

"Honey, that's your seatbelt," her mom told her, glancing over at her from the driver seat, an amused smile playing on her face.

"Oh... okay..." she relaxed into her seat, stretching her arms over her head, but they felt so incredibly heavy. As she was bringing her hands back down, she smacked her own face with her fingers, but to her surprise once again, she hit something that was plastic. "Oh my god!"

"What?" Kaia asked, leaning over the armrest in the middle so she could see Taylor better, grinning from ear to ear. Her fiancée high as a kite was the best thing she had witnessed all year.

Taylor turned her neck to look at her but then her mouth curved into a frown. "I can't see you. I can see you, but I can't see you."

"Well, you did just have laser beams shooting right into your eyeballs—"

"WHAT?"

"What do you mean what?" Andrea chuckled but Taylor looked absolutely mortified.

"How could you let them?" Taylor cried out and Kaia had to bite down on her bottom lip to stop herself from laughing and making the blonde feel any worse.

"Babe, I thought you said you were tired of being blind?"

"I'm not blind! They made me blind!" Taylor whisper-shouted, forcing Kaia to slide right back behind her in the backseat so Taylor wouldn't see her losing it in a fit of laughter.

"Who are they, honey?" Andrea asked her patiently, glancing in the rearview mirror to catch Kaia's gaze but the younger girl could not get herself to look up. She hid her face in the seat in front of her and pulled up her phone to record the rest of this very interesting conversation.

"Them!" Taylor exclaimed, pointing at her face. "The ones that gave me these new eyes!"

"Sweetheart, those are goggles to protect your eyes from bright lights and other things getting in them," her mother explained gently, rolling to a stop outside the Los Angeles house.

"Because you let them shoot laser beams in my eyes!" Taylor insisted.

"Baby, no one forced you to get Lasik," Andrea laughed, patting Taylor's knee as she parked the car and turned the engine off.

Taylor paused for a second, looking both deep in thought and completely spaced out at the same time. As Andrea helped her unbuckle the seatbelt, Taylor turned around and pointed at Kaia.
