Chapter 13: Interrogation

A tiny room caught Bakugou's fleeting attention as his eyes flickered open. He disregarded a slight throbbing pain in the back of his head. The pruned plants, silver lockers, and light gray walls brought back memories of the area where he had behavioral and bereavement therapy. Yeah, such a shocker..

He sat on a metal chair embedded in the floor, as opposed to the cozy, bright beanbags and soft seats they had in therapy. Sat. He had strapped cuffs over his wrists and his back was tied to the chair, so perhaps confined would be a better word. He also took note of the barely noticeable cuff around his ankle that was attached to the leg of the chair. He observed that he was dressed in silk slacks that completely hid his socks and an oversized light blue shirt that exposed his collarbone.

Bakugou raised his gaze from the restraints back to the space. Directly in front of him, behind another silver chair set into the ground, was a stained white folding table. The dried-up red spots grinned at him.

Were they going to hurt him..?

In a panic, he spun around and looked around the room for hints. On one of the walls, he focused his attention on a huge mirror. At the sight of himself, he mentally gasped. His hair had sticks and leaves in it. Like a pufferfish had stung him, his red eyes puffed out. His arm was bound in white bandages with a red slash pattern. I knew I was running through the forest without a care in the world, but my arms really scratched up..

...

Oh yeah.

I'm seen as a Villain now.

Memories of the morning flooded through his brain in an instant. Like how he ran in the forest, chasing Zer— Midoriya. How he discovered his childhood friend (and crush) to be most definitely alive, after months of grieving over his death.

Did Midoriya's own parents know he was alive? Even though Inko had moved away with some random sugar mommy, did she know? Even though Hisashi hadn't come back from buying some milk, did he know? Did his own parents know?

The metal door had clicked, like it was being unlocked. Why'd they lock the door, it wasn't like I could even walk on over there with all these restraints...

"Bakugou," Aizawa called, as he walked through the metal door. Two people followed him. One was small, snow white, and looked like a mouse, which Bakugou knew as the principal of UA, Nezu. The other one was someone Bakugou didn't know. They were a tall man with short, black hair and somewhat rectangular black eyes. It seemed as though he was a member of the police force, probably a detective of some sort. His uniform, which consists of a tan overcoat and matching hat. Underneath which he wore a black suit, a green tie at his neck with matching slacks, and dress shoes.

Bakugou turned his head to his lap and ignored the call from his teacher. Now, he was unable to look at him. He knew that Aizawa had concern for his learners. He assisted the class in recovering physically and psychologically from the USJ attack, supporting some of the students who experienced panic attacks and other issues. He even adopted Hitoshi Shinsou after learning that he had lived in an adoption center without having any genuine parents. He's obviously distraught.

Bakugou slowly eyed the people in front of him. The man had sat in the other metal chair, with the other two standing behind him. The detective smiled while asking him a small question, "How are you felling, Katsuki?"

Bakugou ignored them once again, but it was only for two reasons. It didn't matter what he would say, he would still be labeled a villain. He wouldn't even need to blame them. If he was them, he would thing he was a villain too. The second reason being that he knew Midoriya was alive. Bakugou wronged him when he was alive, so Bakugou had to stay quiet. He ruined Midoriya's life, so Midoriya would ruin his life by making it seem like he was a villain. Bakugou felt like he deserved the punishment of years in jail.

After a few moments of silence the man spoke up again, "My name is Naomasa Tsukauchi. I'm here today to help you, okay?"

He was met with silence once more.

"We'd like to know your side of the story, since we already know your classmates' sides. They were attack by villains, that then sided with them to help reveal a traitor. They saw you with Zero, how you willingly went with him, and sided with him. The villains said you were the traitor and the heroes are starting to believe it."

His smile swiftly faded as he continued, "I don't want to see you behind bars or without a head, so please talk to me."

Bakugou's expression didn't change at all, like he wasn't in the conversation at all. It was because he's mind was one hundred percent in the clouds. He could only think of his, probably confused, classmates. Their probably cursing my name this very instant, calling me a traitor..

"Katsuki, do you understand?" The detective tried once more.

Bakugou lifted his eyes from his arms and stared Tsukauchi dead in the eye, "I'll give you one hint."

"Just one hint," Bakugou repeated.

The heroes held their breath as Bakugou started.

"Ever since I was born."

"Go on?" He asked.

"That's it."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean that's it.."

Tsukauchi laughed as he leaned back in the chair, "Th- that wasn't even a complete sentence."

"I'm not saying anymore," Bakugou stated.

The man turned his head to Nezu, "Just tell me what your going to do with the kid."

"What are we going to do?" Nezu asked after turning his head to Aizawa. He just sighed.

"I think letting him stay at UA would be the best option. I know Bakugous' a good kid and there must be a good reason behind this. We'll help you, I promise."

"Do you think that's safe!?" The detective asked, completely against the idea.

"He'll have to wear quirk restraints and trackers, be with one hero at all times, but that should be it. UA is very secure so we have nothing to worry about."

The police officer huffed, "Fine, but if some villains show up it isn't my fault!!"
