Chapter 11: The Framed UA Traitor

Toga crouched down behind a nearby shrub. She signaled the Heroes to huddle around her with a finger over her mouth. She pointed to a nearby tree after the heroes had taken their positions. Two of the three missing pupils were hiding behind the tree.

Uraraka caught their attention and averted it with a brief wave.

Iida's eyes landed on the two classmates, "T-there's them."

"Where's Bakugou?" Someone from Class 1B whispered only to be met with silence. They didn't know where he was, yet they knew what this meant.

After a few minutes of waiting, rustling and laughter echoed through the forest.

A figure ran into view, "You should just quit trying to catch me!" A hood hanged over Zero's head along with a mask that covered his face. He noticed Toga, the psychopath villain signaling and grinned under his mask. Suddenly, an explosion made its way to him. It was aimed for his face. It landed.

"Got you fuckin' rabbit!" Bakugou laughed stepping into view while stretching his arms, "You couldn't out run me for long."

Zero responded by tilted his head up for him to see. His mask mysteriously vanished. Bakugou gasped. The mask was now seen strewn across the field, shattered into a million pieces, just like a heart damaged from society.

Bakugou froze in place, as if underground roots had sprouted and confined his ankles. He was stunned and could only gaze at Zero. He could just stare, his eyes wide open and refusing to close. Tears threatened to well up in his eyes. It felt as though the entire universe had crumbled around him. His stomach had already twisted and spun in numerous directions, and his heart had stopped beating for a moment. He attempted to breathe, but his throat tightened and his chest felt heavy.

The terrifying aura of the two held the Heroes in a tighter grip, paralyzing them to the spot beneath the bushes.

"No," His words broke up and all he could say were stuttering sounds, "how, no, it. It can't."

Zero smiled as he reached for his hood before letting it cascade down his back. He gave Bakugou a small toothy grin, just like how he would do when he was alive.

"It- It has to be a quirk. It's not real, your just dreaming," Bakugou reminded himself. He tried calming down by closed his eyes and taking a deep breath.

Zero's smile grew manically before saying something. Bakugou tried blocking him out completely, but the last word he said ringed in his ears, "Kacchan."

Bakugou's eyes were fixated on Zero when a great terror overtook him. Kacchan. Only Izuku Midoriya would call him that. He collapsed to the ground in an unkempt mess after losing the ability to contain his sorrow. His pain was released in a torrent of unrestrained tears. His chest was pierced by agonizing sobs like thousands of blades. Every few seconds, he wiped his cheeks, but the tears continued to fall as he screamed in pain.

"No need to cry." Bakugou was unable to answer as Zero knelt in front of him and stroked his cheek. He was too preoccupied sobbing and cursing. Zero gently stroked Bakugou's other cheek while holding onto his other side. Bakugou covered his mouth with his hands to silence himself.
