XXXIII | what is love?

A knock on the door woke Hyunjin up as he shuffled around in his bed not willing to wake up. Another knock landed on the door. "What" he groggily said. "Hyunjin it's 1 p.m. wake up" a voice said from outside and what he felt it seemed like Changbin speaking. "What" Hyunjin sat up on his bed quickly rubbing his face. "Coming" he again replied stretching his body. Lazily walking out of the bed Hyunjin felt pain in his hand. Hissing to himself Hyunjin saw a deep cut forming in his arm. He couldn't remember how this happened, the only thing he remembered was meeting Jaehyun last. He couldn't even remember the conversation now.

He knew he will get asked why it happened and how could he tell when he himself couldn't remember. Anyway he left his room after brushing his teeth. "You up atlast" Chan said who met Hyunjin on his way. "Yeah was just tired a bit" Hyunjin said tiredness showing in his voice. "Ohh it's already time for lunch I will be cooking it so just wait for sometime" Chan said smiling towards Hyunjin. "Where is Minho hyung?" Hyunjin asked quickly. "No I mean he always cooks for us and today you will cook so yeah" he added.

"Minho isn't here. He and Jisung left in the morning" Chan informed and Hyunjin nodded. "Okay" he said nodding and walking away as Chan did the same. Hyunjin was again met by Jeongin on the way, both of them just looked towards each other and Jeongin eyes travelled to Hyunjin's hands. Furrowing his eyes Jeongin asked "What happened?"

"Oh I went to the forest yesterday and fell down hitting my arm" Hyunjin lied not knowing whether it could please Jeongin. "But that doesn't look like a cut from falling down. It.......looks like.......someone slit it" Jeongin raised his eyebrows and Hyunjin internally panicked. "I knew you would ask that because it seems like that only when it's not" Hyunjin answered.

"Why haven't you treated it?" Jeongin said taking a step closer gazing towards the cut. "It happened yesterday night and I was too tired that's why I just slept and woke up late today" "Yeah I know Changbin hyung went to wake you up. But why did you need to visit the forest? Again?" "To clear my mind, you know the pendent is gone and I was too stressed-" "Why are you stressed?" Jeongin quickly cut him off. "Felix is in danger" "Why do you care?" "I just do" Jeongin did not say anything and just left like that.

Chan was in the kitchen overhearing everything they were talking about. Chan didn't bother about it neither did he try to read their brain. "The boy must be in pain" Chan thought and he started preparing some stew soup and some meat for all of them. After a whole 30 mins the food was prepared. "Yeahhh Let's come and eat" Chan called out everyone. "Lix won't eat?" Hyunjin asked. "That boy is too weak to even get up. I will take his food inside his room after we eat. He is currently sleeping " Chan said placing the pot on the table. "I'll take the food for him." Hyunjin said. "First fill your stomach. You look pale Hyunjin " Chan pointed out. "Okay I will" with that everyone sat to eat. " I wonder where they are" Chan said while munching on some meat. "Who Jisung and Minho Hyung?" Jeongin added. "Mmhmmm" Chan said stuffing his mouth with food. "Hyunjin hyung eat more. You need to stay healthy" Jeongin said. Hyunjin wasn't paying much attention. He was rather disturbed by something. He was trying to recall what happened between him and Jaehyun. Suddenly his head started to pain. The chopsticks from his hands fell on the ground instantly. He gripped his head with his hands and the scar that formed from the earlier cut burned as if someone made a new one over the old wound. He winced in pain. The flashbacks of the past events peirced through his brain as if someone removed it but kept bits of it for just to play with him. Or make him suffer. After a while he calmed down. He drank some water and layed on the sofa. And panted. He was having a blurred vision. He just thought of Felix. His pain would save Felix's life. He would bear that for him. But why? He didn't know it. "You take care of him. I'll go and give Felix his food" Chan said. "Yes Hyung" Jeongin added. "No I will. I said I will." Hyunjin said getting up. He tried his best not to collapse. His pain bearing ability was not bad after all. He wasn't fragile. He was strong enough to keep going. "Hyunjin wait" Hyejin said from behind. "Where have you been?" Chan asked Hyejin. "Just here and there" "Why are you stopping me?" Hyunjin asked Hyejin. "Cover your wound. Felix would be worried which is at the moment not good for his health. And you too look kinda odd with it" with that Hyejin tore a part of her shirt and tied on his wound carefully. Hyunjin didn't know what to say apart from thanks. Only a word came out of his mouth and he turned towards Felix's room with the food. "Felix get up. Food is-" "Yeah Hyung I am hungry " Felix said getting up. "You up already?" Felix smiled. Hyunjin felt warm. Felix's smile can cure every wound, every pain according to the older. "Here eat up" Hyunjin said and looked lovingly at the younger. He ate just like a little kid. "Hyunjin-ah what's on your hand" finally he noticed it. "Umm I got a cut" "is it a deep one?" "Not really. Don't worry about it tho" Felix just nodded. "I said Don't worry lixie" Hyunjin said cupping Felix's Cheeks which made him pout. "You look so cute " Hyunjin started laughing. He genuinely laughed. He didn't even try to make the atmosphere light. He just admired Felix for the way he was. Felix too joined the laugh and both felt nice with each other's company. They were getting more and more comfortable. After Felix was done eating, Hyunjin went to keep the plates aside. Two pair eyes was ignored as Hyunjin and Felix was busy in their own world. A sigh left Hyejin's lips as she watched Hyunjin feeding Felix. She knew they had a thing and she also knew that Felix will never choose her over Hyunjin. She could tell it by the heart eyes of Felix which is directed towards only Hyunjin. Why did it have to be him in all? Just why? Hyunjin was still a bit dizzy but he shrugged it off. When he was with the younger he eventually forgot every other thing. This wasn't the first time he was feeling this. He had experienced this a multiple times before and only with Felix. Was it a sign? Was it just a like? Or was it way too deep than he could think it is? Why did he always feel connected to Felix? Why did it feel like his world will fall down if Felix wasn't there?
