_Two years later_
Adina
My eyes glanced up at the flashy neon lights that spelled the name, The Rave, at the top of the building. To confirm I was at the right destination, I quickly fished my phone from my bag, searching for the text my friend Sandy had sent an hour ago. I heaved a sigh of relief, on seeing that I was at the right destination. As planned, I quickly sent a text to Sandy, informing her that I'd arrived. Thereafter, I glanced around to see the flashy cars in the enormous parking lot, with more arriving by the minute, and I couldn't help but wonder if I was actually at a stripclub, or at a fancy event for the rich and famous. While still ogling the show of glamor and luxury around me, Sandy's excited scream fell into my ears, making me turn my head in her direction."Hey girl..." She screamed, throwing her arms around me in a warm embrace. "I'm glad you made it," she added when she pulled away.
I shrugged.
"Well, it's not like I could reject it, not when I have bills to settle,""Don't worry about that, girl. I assure you, you'll be leaving with a smile on your face,"
"I hope so,"
"Come on, let's get inside so I can introduce you to my boss, Cormac," she grabbed onto my wrist and pulled me towards the entrance into the lavishly furnished club, past the bouncers by the entrance.
Being a Friday evening, it was filled to the brim, with people dancing on the dance floor and all of the private booths filled with couples and groups of friends. Now I understood what Sandy had meant when she said they needed more girls to work the club during the weekends.
It wasn't my first time in a club, but it was my first night at The Rave. Every night, I worked at another club, NightLife, as a bartender but I was always free on Fridays as another girl worked the shifts. Sandy and I had met at NightLife, where she was a pole dancer but had resigned after getting a job at The Rave, which offered her better pay.
She had informed me of the vacancy at The Rave, asking me to come work just one night, as they were currently in need of more girls. Compared to where I worked, this place was like an entirely different community and I kept feeling out of place with how extravagant it was. NightLife was just a simple pub, where the regular guys hung out in the evenings to get drinks and maybe get entertained by a few dancers, but here, it was totally different. I could see men impeccably dressed in well-tailored suits, with females dressed in expensive clothes. They all made me feel so inferior in my simple get up of a romper and sandals. Sandy on the other hand, was dressed in just a tiny thong and a matching bra, with her flaming red hair styled into waves, flowing down her back. She looked like a goddess and I couldn't even blame the majority of the men that ogled her as we trudged towards the bar.
"Hey... who's this beauty you've got here, Sandy?" the bartender asked, his eyes roving over me appreciatively and I felt my cheeks heating up in a shy smile.
"Eddie, meet Dina, my friend. She's here to work for the night," she smiled sweetly.
"Ooh..." Eddie wolf whistled, sending me a flirty wink. "I bet you're about to rule the night, Sweetheart,"
"Umm... hi," I murmured, lost for words while biting on my lips.
"Mmm... She's a shy one. That works very well for the job," he grinned boyishly, sending me another wink.
"We'll see you later, Eddie. Come on, Dina, let's leave Eddie to his job,"
Eddie must have murmured something funny because I heard Sandy laughing as she pulled me through the sea of bodies towards a back room, and then we were standing before a door with the words, Manager inscribed on a silver plate attached to it.
