Lucifer
It's on Sunday evening and I'd just concluded a meeting with the managers of one of my hotels and I should be heading home because I was free for the rest of the day but here I was, asking my driver to pull into the parking lot of NightLife. Truly, I had no business there_not when Sebastian was handling things pretty well. But I wasn't there to check on the affairs of the club. I was there to see a certain honey-eyed blonde that I couldn't get out of my mind.

Memories of that night at The Rave still clouded my thoughts and all efforts to get them out have been to no avail. I shouldn't want her because she was too pure and innocent for me, but it seems my dark side craved her innocence. Whenever I was near her, all I wanted to do was to sink my teeth in her soft neck and draw some of her sweet blood. Not just that but I wanted to claim her completely and I couldn't give in to these thoughts because they were disastrous and could ruin every track I've worked hard to cover.

I couldn't let a mere human girl get under my skin.

But here you are, stopping by just to see her. My inner voice taunted, making me curse under my breath and to clench my jaw.

Maybe I should fire her so I'd stop seeing her regularly.

As much as this sounded right, I shook my head, quickly displacing these thoughts. Never, I could never let her out of my sight. She had been so scared of losing her job the moment she found out I was her boss. I couldn't hurt her by taking it from her after assuring her it was not an issue. But then, even if I could, I wasn't about to miss the gorgeous way her creamy cheeks turned rosy whenever she laid eyes on me. Without doubt, I knew she was always reliving that night at the club.

This woman will be the end of me. I murmured while strolling into the crowded club with my eyes fixed on just one place, her booth at the bar.

But the closer I got, the more I realized she wasn't there. Rather, it was another of the servers that was in her place. My brows drew together in a frown, with my eyes traveling around the entire room hoping to see her but she was nowhere to be found.

My frown deepened and my eyes traveled to my wristwatch to confirm it was the right time. Her shift began an hour ago.

Marching to the bar, I fixed the waitress with a hard questioning look, hoping she knew something of Adina's absence.

"Where is Adina?"

"S-sir... She took a b-break..." she stammered but my eyes darkened. "She...she'll be back s-shortly, Sir,"

"Tell her to see me in my office when she returns,"

Without awaiting her response, I diverted towards the back where my office was located, a bit annoyed at Adina's absence but then a soft body collided with mine, causing me to stop in my tracks.

"I... I'm sorry," her eyes traveled up until they met mine and shock registered on her face. But that wasn't what got my attention_her red rimmed eyes did.

"Adina?" I narrowed my gaze at her but she took a step backwards, dropping her gaze to the floor. My sensitive ears picked up the sound of her racing heart amidst the noise around us, and I detected the strong waves of anxiety rolling off her.

"Hello, Lucifer," she said in the most cheerful voice she could muster, with a grin that resembled a grimace slipping into her face. "I've got work to do," she tried slipping past me but I quickly grabbed her arm, and pulled her back.

"Not so fast, love,"

Her face dropped and her bottom lip quivered. I also noticed her left eye twitch and how glassy her eyes became with unshed tears.
