Lucifer
My chauffeur pulled through the open gates of my step father's mansion, Gage Kincaid. A deep breath expelled from my lungs before I opened the door and alighted from the car. My gaze swept the entire billion-dollar property that covered more acres of land than I could count, the place I'd once called home while growing up.

As usual, the serene environment filled me with a mix of peace and dread. It was far away from the busy streets, surrounded by thick woods, fitting to the owner. And it was probably for the best that Gage stayed far away from the rest of the human race, for their safety and assured long life.

Shaking off the crippling dread that was slowly crawling up my spine, I walked towards the huge oak doors and rang the doorbell. A moment later, the huge double arched doors were thrown open and Gage himself was standing before me, holding a glass of liquor in one hand with both of his arms spread open and a small smile on his thin lips.

I stared at his dark brooding eyes, willing myself to return his smile. It was just 8:30 am but the man was impeccably dressed in one of his most expensive suits, his greying hair slicked back away from his aging face and his rich cologne filled my nostril as I stepped through the open door into his waiting arms.

"It's good to have you home, son," he patted my back firmly before pulling away and turning on his heels.

"Good morning, father,"

"Join us for breakfast. Your brother and sister are already waiting,"

I stopped in my tracks. The least I wanted was to deal with Celine so early in the morning. The urge to make an excuse to disappear was high but Gage would never let me out so easily. Thus, I pushed my surly expression to a dark corner and proceeded into the dinning area, right behind Gage.

We got in to see Zack and Celine already seated with their eyes fixed on us. Zack wore a bored expression but Celine had an innocent smile plastered on her face, with her eyes glinting with mischief. It made me roll my eyes.

"Look who we have here, my favorite brother," she purred, her smile widening into a grin as she clapped excitedly like a teenager.

"It's no wonder you're never around me," Zack commented, his brows deepening in a mock frown but Celine bumped her shoulders with his.

"Don't be ridiculous,"

"I see you've all missed the banter," Gage noted in his croaky voice, pulling back the chair at the head of the table to take his seat.

"Come sit here, Lucifer," Celine eagerly tapped the vacant chair to her right but I ignored her, sitting on the one directly opposite Zack. Her face fell a bit but I refused to stare at her more than necessary nor even give Gage a reason to suspect anything.

The girl was clearly insane and wouldn't mind going to any lengths just to prove her insanity. I was yet to chastise her for unceremoniously showing up at my place of work the other day. She was crossing more boundaries daily and I needed to put her in her place before it was too late.

"It's good to have y'all home again. We should have more family breakfasts and even dinners," Gage said as breakfast commenced.

"That'll be lovely, father, but we're adults now and our jobs keep us very busy but I'm sure Celine can always make time for you," Zack responded while I remained silent, trying my best to focus on my meal and not the foot that was crawling up my pants underneath the table. I didn't need a prophet to know it was Celine, but I wasn't going to give her the attention she was craving.

"I'm sure we can all make time for some family time. We'll discuss it in due time but for today, let's enjoy our breakfast and get on with the possible preparations for the bloodfest,"
