Adina
As usual, it was another Friday evening at the club and I was a bit earlier than usual. I still had an hour before the start of my shift but since I'd been bored at home, and I was slowly running mad with thoughts of my boss and Uriel, I decided to show up early. It was better to be in the midst of people, where my mind would be at peace for a while, and it was also a good thing my shift lasted until the next morning.
I sat at the bar, casually chatting with Lindsey, who was currently working her shift, when Chloe strolled into the bar, smiling brightly. She was just arriving.
"Look who's here today?" she announced, slumping in the barstool next to mine.
"What do you mean, I'm always here," I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah... when you're not in the boss's office," she winked, but I gaped at her.
Lindsey, who had just finished serving two customers turned to us, narrowing her gaze at me.
"Have I been missing something?"
"Yeah, our hot boss has got something for Missy, here," Chloe waggled her brows, but I shook my head in denial.
"That's not true..."
"Yeah? Then care to explain why he almost bit my head off the other day when I had to take your place so you could use the bathroom? And again, I saw him carry you to his office a few minutes later," she smirked but I took my eyes to Lindsey, shaking my head in denial but Lindsey was staring at me with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"Damn... Dina, and you kept all of this from me? I thought we were friends?" Lindsey asked, feigning hurt.
"It's not what it seems," I tried objecting but the girls weren't having that.
"Oh wow... then tell us, Dina. Did he..." Lindsey drawled, winking at me, and I felt the moment heat crawled into my cheeks because I understood what she was insinuating.
"Come on, Dina, don't keep us waiting," Chloe pushed, but I shook my head again.
"It's not like that. I was... I was just having..."
Before I could complete my words, a throat cleared behind us, and we all turned to see a blonde woman, dressed in a miniskirt that left nothing to the imagination and a crop top with a plunging neckline that exposed a fair amount of her cleavage. She looked like she'd just walked out of a runway, with her legs that seemed to go on forever in the flimsy skirt she had on, coupled with gladiator heels. Just one glance at her and I could pick on the snobby rich girl vibes she had going on. It made me want to roll my eyes really badly but I couldn't disrespect a customer now, could I?
"If you girls don't mind, could you show me the way to Lucifer's office?" She asked in a sultry voice, drawing out his name in a way that made me want to gag, but it also had my heart rate spiking up.
"Sure," Chloe responded, and my eyes darted to hers, watching her direct the woman to his office.
Without showing her appreciation, she turned on her heels, with her hips swaying and sashayed past us towards the direction of Lucifer's office.
"Shouldn't you have confirmed from the boss to know if he was expecting a visitor?" I asked Chloe, while trying not to stutter because it didn't sit well with me that the stranger knew Lucifer and was going to see him.
"I'm sure he knows of her visit," Chloe shrugged, waving it off like it wasn't a big deal.
"And that's because he told you that?" I asked, cocking a brow.
"Come on Dina, haven't you seen her with Lucifer before? Everyone knows they have a thing. I mean, they seem to. Although Lucifer is her adopted brother, it seems their feelings and bond run deeper than that. You should see them every time they appear in tabloids, she's always clinging to him. Rumors are, they're dating, and it doesn't really count right? I mean they're not related by blood so..."
