Winter
We walked downstairs. James was following close behind, I think he was a little scared. "Wait, so where are your parents?" James asked.
"I don't know. That's why I got to find them and that's why I need your help also." I stated. We got to the door and James opened it. I walked out. I heard James close the door behind us. I started to head to his truck.
"What's your parents names? And brother?" James asked as he jogged up to my side.
"My moms name is Jamie. My dads name is Luis. And my brothers name is Alex." I replied. I got to his car and opened the car door quickly and climbed in.
I closed it and brought out my gun from my back. I looked over and saw James climb in. He got his keys out and started up the car. We started to go. I was looking down at my gun. I was really tired. I was about to go asleep.
"You okay, Winter?" James ask. I looked at him. He was looking at me, but then at the road. I shrugged.
"Just tired." I replied. "I only got sleep about once a week. Every Tuesday for about three hours." I stated. I saw James nod, then make a right turn.
"You can go to sleep if you want." James insisted.
"It's fine. I'll sleep later." I replied. We finally got to the busy street. I was looking out the window at all the cars passing by.
"Shit." James sighed. I looked at him.
"What?"
"There's a police car behind us." He stated. I looked in the review mirror. I saw the police car behind us.
"James, go to the lane to our right." I demanded, still looking at the mirror. He started to merge into the next line, while the police car did the same thing. I put my back back on the chair. "Great, they're following us." I sighed.
"What do I do?" He asked. I looked at him.
"Go faster." I demanded. He looked at me for a second, then his eyes locked back on the road.
"No. If I do, then I'll get a ticket, and my dad will get piss-" I got my gun and pointed it his head. He paused. "Yeah, I'll go faster, that's a great idea." I got the gun and put it back on my lap. James stepped on the peddle and started to go faster. He started to weave through the traffic. I looked behind us. The car was still following us. Then, the lights came on.
"Okay, pull over." I demanded. James started to go over to the shoulder.
"What are you doin', Winter?" James asked.
"I got a plan." I stated.
"Well, I'd hope so." James said under his breath. I started to laugh, then I stopped.
No one can make me laugh, yet he did?
James finally parked the car to the right.
"Switch seats with me." I demanded.
"What?" He asked.
"Just do it!" I yelled. We unbuckled and awkwardly switched seats. I buckled up again and took my hair out of my braid and I started to unbutton my shirt a little.
I ran my hand through my hair three time to get it smooth. I looked at James, he was staring at me. "Close your mouth, you're going to catch flies." I stated. He shook his head a little and looked straight.
"Sorry." He apologized. I looked at the mirror at myself and fixed my shirt.
"How old does the officer look?" I asked. James looked behind us.
"Early twenties, maybe." James replied. I smiled.
"Great." I looked at James. "You're my brother, okay? Your name is Mark." I stated. He nodded. "And my name is-"
"Marguerite." James said, cutting me off. I shot him a confused look.
"Marguerite?" I asked. He nodded.
"Yeah, I like that name." He stated. I smiled. I heard someone tap on the window. I pulled down the window and looked at the officer.
"License and reg..." The officer looked at me and stopped talking. I smiled.
"Did I do anything wrong, Officer..." I looked at his name tag. "Aaron." He stared at me, then snapped out of it.
"Sorry. Do you know how hot you... I mean.. Fast you were goin'?" He asked. I nodded.
"Yes I do, and I'm terribly sorry about that. I'm new to the area." I said. He nodded.
"What's your name?" He asked, leaning on the car.
"My name is..." I paused. "Marguerite, and this is my brother, Mark." I introduced. He smiled.
"Okay. I'll let you go. Hopefully I'll see you later, cutie." He stated. I was killing him in my mind. But I smiled.
"Thank you, Officer. I'll be safe now." I said. I rolled up the window and waited for him to leave. He nodded, and walked away. I waited. "I'm gonna drive now." I stated. James looked at me.
"Do you even know how to drive?" He asked. I took the car out of park.
"Not a clue."
