I watched Winter walk away with the agents. I started to freak out. I'm supposed to be helping her, and what do I do?

Have her get caught by the government.

"Winter!" I yelled. I started to go, but Winter's older brother got up and held me back.

"Wait." Alex demanded. I swallowed hard. They shoved her in the van and closed the door. Her mom and dad got up from the ground quickly and walked over to us. Alex let go of me.

"Where is she?" Winter's dad asked. Alex stared at the car for a second, then turned to his dad.

"Middle left seat." Alex replied. Her dad nodded.

"What's gonna happen to Winter?" I asked in worried voice.

"She's gonna be fine. Just hold on." Alex demanded again. I looked as the car started to drive off.

How is she going to be okay?

All of a sudden, the van started to swerve, and hit a tree. The door swung open, and Winter walked out. She fixed her hair and walked to us. She smiled.

"Hey guys." She said. My jaw dropped.

"Okay, what's goin' on?" I asked. They all looked at me.

"Oh yeah, I forgot something." Winter's mom said. She lifted her hands, which lifted up the concrete, and slammed it into me. I flew back and hit the wall harshly. It felt like my back broke. The concrete was still on me to hold me up against the wall.

Alex then turned into a human torch, and he didn't look happy. And her dad was all of a sudden surrounded with rings of water. They all started to walk closer to me.

"No!" Winter screamed. She turned to her dad and stuck out her hands, which made the water rings turn into ice, and fall on the ground.

Then she quickly turned to her brother and turned him into a human ice statue. Then she turned to me and froze the concrete holding me against the wall.

She closed her hands into tight fists and dropped her hands. The concrete shattered and I fell on the ground. I started to moan in pain.

"Winter! Unfreeze your brother this instant!" Her mom demanded. I looked up and saw Winter staring at her mom. Without losing any eye contact with her mom, she lifted up her hand in Alex's direction. She opened her hand, then dropped it. Alex unfroze and fell on the ground. He started to cough. I got up slowly, but kept my distance.

"Winter, you know to never tell anyone about your power." Her dad snapped.

"He just figured out! He's gonna help us!" Winter screamed. She looked at me and nodded. I was still doubled over, breathing heavily. She ran over to me and put her arm over me. She helped me up. "Just give him a chance." Her mom and her dad looked at each other, then back at us.

"Fine. But if he does anything to hurt us-"

"He won't, I promise."
