James
"Oh shit." I mumbled under my breath as I finally got enough power to get myself off the concrete floor. Winter looked at me with her cold, blue eyes. She turned her body to me. Her cold flame sparking from her hands. I started to breathe heavily. I backed into the ice wall as Winter started to come closer to me. I looked at her feet; she was floating in mid air. I swallowed hard and started to slide down the cold wall until I was sitting on the floor, my back being pressed against the wall hard.
"Winter, don't hurt him!" Alex yelled. We both looked over and saw Alex standing about ten to fifteen feet away from us. He became a human torch again. I looked back at Winter quickly, seeing that she was distracted. I took that opportunity to find a way to get Winter on the ground.
I jumped up, wrapping my arms around her waist and bringing her down to the ground. I felt her back slam on the ground. I got on top of her, sitting up and pinning her arms to the ground. She started struggling to get up. I kept her down with her arms above her head. Her eyes were closed tightly.
"Winter! Winter, calm down! It's me! James!" I screamed. She still kept struggling to get out of my grip with her eyes closed. "Come on, Winter! Fight Maiden! You're not bad! You're good!" I screamed. She was still struggling. I tightened my grip on her wrists as I kept them pinned on the ground. "Winter Meg!" I screamed once more. She opened her eyes. They were still a cold blue. I just stared at her. "Winter, it's me. James." I whispered. She started to calm down on her breathing, and her eyes went back to normal. She relaxed more. I started to take deep breaths. I let go of her wrists and sat up.
"James..?" Winter asked. I looked down at her, breathing heavily. "What happened..?"
"You started to beco-" And before I could finish my sentence, a sharp pain ran through one spot of my back and my stomach. I looked down at Winter, and she was staring at me with wide eyes. Then I looked down at my stomach.
An ice spear was sticking out from my stomach.
I swallowed hard, then looked at her. "I'm okay, I'm okay." I kept whispering to her. Then, I fell off of Winter, onto the ground, and blacked out.
