Chapter 8

Holy shit, I'm such an asshole. I'm so sorry! Forgive me? I've been crazy busy lately because my father has been making me get out of the house every fucking day (gross) and be around people (Hello anxiety!) and I've been really tired and I'm not sure why. But, here I am, finally updating this. Anyways, read on!

"It's... It's empty?" Eren asked, then began flipping through the next couple of pages. All empty, even the rest of the book. "I-I don't understand? It could've helped!" Eren cried, clutching at the old pages in his hands. Astro whimpered, pressing his wet nose to the back of Eren's hand. Eren sighed, dropping the book on the floor with a thunk then wrapping his arms around Astro's neck and hanging there for a while, tired and hungry.

"Let's go find some food then we can tell the principal and find a place to take a nap." Eren sighed, standing up. Astro stood up as well and followed Eren out of the dorm, locking it behind them. They walked to the campus, lucky to not run into their friends, and went to a small food shop they had and bought just some good canned goods and frozen dinners. They dropped everything off at the dorms, then walked to the main building where the principal was.

"Hey there Eren, how're you doing?" The lady at the front desk asked.

"Just looking to talk to the principal." Eren explained with a lazy stare. She nodded then gestured him down the hall towards the principal's office. When he got there, he knocked then was soon called in.

"Hello Eren! How are you doing with the new dorms?" The man asked, leaning forward on his desk.

"Horrible. It's haunted or something." Eren sighed, sitting down in the chair with Astro by his side.

"Hmm? Explain." The man urged.

"Well, last night as I was laying in bed, something began running up and down the halls. We check it out and the normally locked basement was wide open and some... Thing came out and chased us back into our room. We tried to sleep but it kept running up and down the hall, scratching on my door and the walls." Eren explained, shivering from the mere memory of the experience.

"Oh, did you get a good look at it?" The man smirked. Eren furrowed his eyebrows but nodded.

"It looked like... Like a little girl. She had long, black hair, pale skin, glowing red eyes and she was covered in blood." Eren explained, shuddering. Then, the man laughed. Laughed. "What's so funny!?" Eren cried, his eyes wide.

"That's a night goblin. They roam all the dorms here at night and the whole campus really, making sure everyone is asleep. But, since that dormitory was empty for so long, I guess it forgot how to treat its guests." The man shrugged. That still doesn't explain the message from Grisha. Eren thought.

"Could they, they being the goblins, carry messages? Like symbols or stuff and like, put them somewhere?" Eren asked, not sure how to explained it.

"Why do you ask? Did something happen?" The principal asked, raising a questioning eyebrow.

"No, I was just curious." Eren lied quickly. The man nodded, then Eren excused himself, quickly leaving with Astro. "I think the nap will have to wait a while, I've got research to do now." Eren said, making a sharp turn towards the library. Astro whined, but followed him nonetheless. When they entered the library, they got help from the librarian and quickly found many books. Like, a whole ton of books.

"This is going to take a while." Eren said as he sat down at a table with all the books. Astro laid under the table and fell asleep almost instantly while Eren opened a book and began reading.

'Night Goblins: For Dummies. Night Goblins are goblins of the night, as stated by their name. If held within a house or building, they slink around at night and make sure everything and everyone is asleep and in bed comfortably.'

"Not what I'm looking for." Eren muttered angrily, running a hand through his brown hair, cursing quietly under his breath. He continued reading on and on, book after book on useless facts about Night Goblins. Soon, he eyes started droop and he didn't remember when he fell asleep, but next thing he knew, he was being shaken awake by someone.

"Oi, brat, wake up." A deep voice said. Eren jerked up with a snort like noise, looking around until his eyes landed on an amused Levi. Eren felt his cheek heat up and he knew he was blushing. "The library closed." Levi added.

"Huh? Oh! I've got to go!" Eren said, standing up suddenly only to find his foot was asleep, completely numb and useless. He toppled over, startling Astro as Levi chuckled.

"Can't go now, it's closed and we're locked in." Levi said, squatting down in front of Eren, smirking.

"Huh?" Eren squeaked. Locked in? Locked in with Levi? Locked in with a really hot guy? No, no, no! This can't be happening! I'm going to, like, die or something! Eren internally panicked.

"So, tell me brat, what are you?" Levi asked, sitting down and crossing his legs, Indian style in front of Eren.

"Uhm... That's for you to know and me to figure out- Wait! I didn't mean that, I meant for me to know and you to figure in- I mean, me to know and me to figure- I-I Ugh!" Eren cried, hiding his beet red face in his hands.

"I know what you mean. It's fine, I won't push you to tell me." Levi said with an amused chuckle. Eren peeked through his fingers at the dark haired male in front of him.

"So, uhm, what are you?" Eren asked.

"That's for me to know and for you to figure out." Levi smirked.

*Insane giggling coming from under a pile of blankets* Ah! I fucking love that moment, so much! Look at these dorks! Just you wait for the next chapter (Which I might post early because I was being a massive fucknut and delayed this update) Anyways, much Ereri love to you guys and LOVE YOU GUYS!!
