Chapter 5

I was standing on the front porch, leaning my head back waiting for the sun to rise above the mountains when a hand landed on my shoulder and snatched me back into the house.

I snarled in response to being manhandled and I spun around thinking it was Ragnar but instead I was pointing my finger at Liam. "What do you think you're doing?"

"I was just going to ask you the same thing! You can't go out in sunlight, you're a vampire!" He exclaimed.

I took a quick glance outside and saw the sun rise above the mountains. I looked back at Liam with a wicked grin and bolted outside before he could grab me again. I stood in front of the cabin with my arms raised and my head tilted back with my eyes closed, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin. I sighed in contentment and dropped my arms, looking over my shoulder to the open doorway and I saw four sets of eyes staring back at me.

I chuckled softly as I started walking towards the open doorway when I'm tackled from the side. I watched a silver knife descend in the air heading straight for my heart when I grasp the wrist and twist, breaking it with a loud snap. My fangs descend in anger as my hands heat up, I heard a squeal of pain when my hands burned through the clothing. I yanked the person's back of the neck towards me and sank my fangs into his neck. I decided to drink some of his blood before ripping his throat out with my fangs. I stood when I finished with the male as I glanced up with blood dripping down my chin and onto my chest, looking around and seeing three more men come out of the woods.

"Pen!" I heard one of my mates yell from inside the cabin but I ignored it and focused on the enemy.

I grinned with my fangs exposed and my hands glowing red, speeding across the open space tearing the men apart. I scanned the surrounding area and listened to the woods but I didn't hear any more threats around. I stalked back to the cabin, growling low, and continued my way around my four mates as I entered the cabin. Ignoring my mates' shocked faces.

"We need to pack up and find another safe house. My uncle found me. Again." I continued to my room and packed a few things into the bag I had taken from the warehouse and decided to take another quick shower to clean the blood off of me.

I looked down at my hands after my shower and noticed how they're not glowing red anymore. I shook my head and decided to get dressed when Liam walked into my room and leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, staring at me.

"Are you okay?" He asked me quietly.

I shrugged, keeping my eyes averted. "I'm fine."

"When were you going to tell us about being able to go out in sunlight?" His expression looked disappointed when he continued to look at me.

"I had been hoping all of you were asleep so you wouldn't see me go out there. But I guess it's a good thing I did because if we had been sleeping, we wouldn't have been safe." I glared at the wall in seething anger.

He grumbled softly under his breath before speaking, "I'm glad that you're unharmed and it was a bit surprising to see you be able to go out into sunlight though. How long have you been able to do that? I don't think I've ever heard of a vampire able to walk in sunlight without bursting into flames. And I also don't understand how they found us unless they found a way to open the tunnel's doors and follow it through the mountains."

I turned to look at him quietly for a moment, debating on what I should tell him. "I've always been able to walk into daylight, I used to leave my curtains open while in my room when my parents were alive. I'd have to close them of course when they came in." I shrugged. "I'm not sure about them finding us but that's the most logical unless someone in the group has been telling my uncle everything and where we've gone. Don't you find it odd that Ragnar finds my hide out and suddenly six of my uncles men find us? Or when he returns after leaving, more men magically appear guns blazing and we have to leave the warehouse? Or just now, when I went outside they miraculously found us at this safe house?" I looked pointedly at him.
