Chapter 13

When we walked hand in hand to the main area of the bunker, Ragnar was nowhere to be seen. I kept my face blank but I was boiling inside. I could feel my anger building to him not being here when I returned. He was almost more emotional than being controlled like he wanted to show everyone around him he was. I was pretty sure it had something to do with mine and Liam's relationship. But what Ragnar and I had was more animalistic in nature whereas Liam's and mine was a calming situation. I couldn't quite explain the emotions pertaining to the males in my life, non-mated or mated, but I cared for each of them differently. I wouldn't say I loved them but I did care about them individually. Aris and Jaxson were also different. Aris was more of a playful and protective mate, as well as extremely flirtatious. He thought he was a god's gift to vampires. Jaxson on the other hand, I couldn't quite put my finger on. He was quiet and if he felt the need to put his two cents in, he would. Other than that, he kept to himself. I'd have to get some more alone time with him so I could get to know him better.

There was a constant darkness shrouding our group, I knew I couldn't fully trust them just yet, even if two of them were mated to me. Simply because they popped into my life out of nowhere and asked me to trust them, suddenly I had an evil family member trying to kill me so he could become King.

I looked up to Liam for a moment, watching his side profile as he walked beside me. His hair had fallen across his forehead, giving him a definite sexy look. With his jeans riding low on his hips, making his Adonis belt more pronounced, his hair being slightly wet from the sweat of our escapades, it made him look like he just finished working out. I stifled a grin and looked quickly away to keep my composure.

I wonder... I thought to myself. I glanced back up to Liam as we sat down amongst the other two. I felt for my mate's bond to Liam and closed my eyes.

Liam, are you able to hear me? I tested the link to see if I could speak to him like I did with Ragnar.

I opened my eyes once again and looked at Liam. He was looking at me with shock written across his face. I slowly grinned at him and winked.

H-how is this possible? He asked me.

I shrugged and kept my eyes on him.

I don't know for sure but Ragnar and I can do it as well.

So that's why you guys were looking at each other the other night, acting as if you were having a full conversation. You really were. He said to me telepathically.

I nodded once. I'm sorry to keep it from you but we wanted to see if each of us would have different and special abilities with each of our bonds. That's why he also stopped having a meltdown when I was captured before sunrise. I told him what happened and that I was in a trunk but I escaped.

Should we tell the others? It's your decision. He said to me.

I nodded once again.

He looked at Jaxson and Aris and said, "hey guys. We have something we need to discuss about the matebond with Lagertha."

They looked at both of us before keeping their eyes on Liam.

"Okay, what's up, bud?" Aris asked.

"With Ragnar and Lagertha, they found out just after mating that they could speak telepathically. We just found out after our mating, we can do the same." Liam said as he sat back against the chair he was sitting in.

Just then Ragnar walked in and overheard the conversation. I could tell he wasn't all that happy with revealing that little secret of ours and knowing it wasn't just our special bond. So I reached my hand out to him and he looked at me with his jaw clenching before stalking over to me and he lifted me out of my seat. He sat down and set me across his lap, I lightly touched his jaw and touched my nose against his. His eyes flashed a light orange when they met mine.

I laid my head down on his shoulder and looked over to the rest.

"That's insane. So basically once we mate, we can talk telepathically to her or can we do it with each other as well? Because that'll come in handy in times of trouble." Aris said to Liam after looking away from me and Ragnar.

"We haven't gone into depth with it. Have any of you heard of something like this before with any other mates?" Liam questioned as he glanced at each of my other mates.

I felt Ragnar shake his head and Jaxson and Aris did the same.

I lifted my head when I thought of something. "What if none of the mated couples wanted it to be known that they could speak that way? Is there not some kind of library or archive that has all of this information about our history? I mean c'mon, even humans have libraries or archives that have their history." I grumbled.

Liam looked at me with a soft smile. "We actually do have an Archive. It's with the counsel and they don't allow just anyone to look through the archive of our history so that no one will damage them. Like your uncle for instance."

"Then who will they allow?" I asked him.

"The King or Queen actually." Jaxson answered for Liam.

"Okay so, why haven't we gone since I'm the rightful heir?" I questioned with a slight attitude. I can't believe we have that kind of information about our history and we haven't gone to look into it.

"We didn't want your uncle finding out about you but I guess now that he knows, before he gets to Las Vegas, we can go to the Archive and meet the elders. If that is what you want to do." Liam said quietly.

I nodded. I could understand that, trying to protect me but they need to understand that I can also protect myself. I may not have had powers a few days ago but I knew how to fight.

"Let's do it." I said with a grin.
