Chapter 12
I pulled up to the front entrance to the bunker and got out of the car. My heart began racing in my chest as I walked up to the door and opened it. All four of my mates' scents hit me at once and I smiled. Walking deeper inside the bunker after shutting the door behind me, I found them sitting together, each of them looking exhausted.
"Hello boys." I grinned with fangs protruding from my lips.
They looked up simultaneously and rushed over to me. I was engulfed in multiple bear hugs and my eyes filled with tears when I looked up to see Ragnar still holding onto me.
"Don't ever do that again, Princess." I snorted at him.
"It's not like I did it on purpose, jerkwad." I cupped his cheek and he kissed the palm of my hand lightly.
I looked at all of my mates, looking at Liam last. "I know where my uncle is going to be." Each of their faces frown.
"How?" Liam asked.
"I killed one of the men that took me and I questioned the second until the sun took him from this world. He told me that my uncle has been staying in Ireland but since he was told of my capture, he'll be coming here to America in a couple nights. He's going to meet them in Las Vegas. Or at least was. We also need to burn the car, it's out front but it'll have to wait until the sun goes down."
Ragnar folded his arms over his chest, biceps bulging in his shirt from the position. "So that's all you got out of the guy?" He asked me.
I frowned at him. "What else was there to ask? We've been searching for my uncle, correct? We found him. He's been in Ireland. He's coming here, to get me. Are you daft?"
He scowled. "No. But if I had been there I would've gotten more out of him than that. Like the actual location of where he's staying in case he goes back into hiding."
I could feel my hands warming with the heat of my anger rising inside my chest. I balled my fists to keep my control. "Well you weren't there, Ragnar. Now were you? None of you were. What a great fucking reunion. Glad we had this chat." I stalked away with my anger simmering inside me, clenching and unclenching my fists.
"Lagertha!" Liam yelled to me as I walked away. I suddenly stopped at my birth name and slowly turned to face him.
Liam walked up to me slowly with his hands in front of him in a calming gesture. "Sweetheart. I'm sorry he upset you but let's go somewhere to talk about what you found, okay?"
I nodded and glared at Ragnar, walking away from the others.
"Welcome back, Princess!" I heard Aris and Jaxson yell at me.
I waved at them in reply, still fuming.

I walked into an area with a kitchenette that looked like it hadn't been used in a long while. I took a seat at the cleaner looking table that would hold up against my weight. It reminded me of an old restaurant booth that someone must have taken it from. As I waited for Liam to meet up with me, I glanced around. It seemed so dark and gloomy that I adjusted several times in my seat, feeling uncomfortable. I grimaced just as Liam walked through the entry.
"I'm sorry about Ragnar. He shouldn't have been like that when he seemed to be going out of his mind with worry when you were kidnapped. But then he seemed to shut down just before dawn, it was odd." He said as he sat down across from me in the booth.
Must've been when I spoke to him mentally. I rolled my eyes. "Him? Worried? I doubt it but I'll let it go. I'll be honest though, I did panic a little. I had made it into this office building and hid. Idiots never took my blade, I guess they thought I'd be a defenseless little girl. I killed one and took out the other before interrogating him. He didn't wanna talk at first until I threatened to let him burn in the sun. Which I did anyway, obviously. And well, I found my way here." I shrugged.
