I sat down at the booth across from Keith. He immediately smiled.

"I ordered us everything on the menu, don't worry I can pay." He said.

"Well I mean I was kind of hoping- i have no money, despite the fact I need a job." I fake laughed.

We sat, eating for awhile, and I mainly wanted to talk about work related things, seeing as I was doing this for a job, which I kept having to remind myself that throughout the date.

Keith kept talking about things couples would do, and personal questions, until it finally got to the work questions, I became relieved.

"So tell me the real reason why you want this job." He stated at me.

"Well...my mom passed away yesterday, and I need a job, I'm almost 18, so I won't be put into foster care, but I need to pay bills, and for a funeral." I said as I quickly wiped a tear.

"Oh- I see- mommy issues. Okay well you got the job! I feel bad for you, my date." I wanted to puke.

"Yeah, thank you!" I faked a smile.

I managed to tough out the date, and finally left. I walked home right away and took off my dress, throwing it in the trash as soon as I got through the door.

I never want to be reminded of that disgusting date again.

"You were on a date with Steve weren't you?" A worried Eddie appeared behind the counter.

"What? No! Where did you get that from?" I asked.

"Don't lie to me Lydia." He scolded.

"Eddie what the fuck! I wasn't with Steve!"

"Then who the fuck were you with!!"

I sighed.

"I didn't want to tell you but it was a job interview. I start working at the video store next week."

"With Steve." He said.

"Eddie what is with you and Steve! We're just friends! I barely talk to him!"

"Lydia what's with you and Chrissy?" He looked at me.

"Eddie don't even! I've seen her get in your van before! And in the woods! You can't convince me that it's just a drug deal."

His face went still.

Then I finally realized, "Your jealous. Aren't you?"

"Lydia, no. Steve clearly has a thing for you."

"And Chrissy has a thing for you!" I scolded him.

"So your jealous of Chrissy." He smiled.

"No Eddie I-" He cut me off as he stepped closer to me, planting a kiss on my lips.

"To prove that your the only girl that's important in my life. I love you, not Chrissy."

I smiled.
"And I love you, not Steve."

"Now you should probably get some clothes on." He laughed at me as I stood in my underwear.

I went upstairs, where I changed, and went back down, sitting on the couch with Eddie. I noticed an opened beer on the coffee table, so I went to grab it until Eddie stopped me.

"And no more drinking! You should stay sober, until the funeral." He looked at me.

I sighed, pulling back from the beer, and resting my hand and head on his chest.

"You know I care for you, and I really mean it when I say Chrissy is nothing to me."

"And I mean it when I say Steve is nothing to me Eddie." I smiled.

I kissed Eddie on the cheek before getting back up and getting a glass of water.

"Oh shit I gotta go, I need to meet Chrissy and give her some weed. I promise that's all!" Eddie got up, showing me the weed and kissing my cheek before leaving.

I drank my water, not thinking much of it.

As hours passed by, still no Eddie. It was now midnight. So I went upstairs, and went to bed, hoping my thoughts were wrong.
