chapter 20 - upside down

"Can you guys get me a beer and some snacks? Since I can't leave." Eddie asked, in an annoyed voice.

"Sure Thing Eddie." Mike said.

They all started to walk away when Eddie asked me, "Aren't you going with them Lydia?"

I shook my head and watched them walk out.

I took a seat across from Eddie with a regretful look on my face.

"What do you want?" His voice cracked.

"I just want to talk." I replied.

He stayed silent.

"I feel like a slut." I looked down at my feet.

"Your not. Your under a lot of stress and I am too." He responded, with a sorry look on his face.

"Eddie's that's no excuse. What I did was horrible and disgusting. And I didn't want to hurt you. I should've stopped when I saw Steve at my window. I'm sorry, and I still love you and you only."

"That doesn't change the fact that you still cheated, Lydia." I looked up at him.

"Did it feel good?" He asked, I looked at him and then quickly looked away.

"You can't even face me." His voice broke.

"No Eddie, it didn't feel good, it made me feel uncomfortable with myself. I shouldn't have done what I did."

Just then, everyone came back in. Steve staring at me and Eddie.

"Here. Fuel up because we need to get busy." Dustin shouted.

About 20 minutes later, Robin and Dustin were arguing about the Vecna and how he came back after 50 something years or so, and why. As far as we knew, Chrissy was Vecnas first victim in decades.

Eddie kept eating and glaring at me as we both stood silent.

"Hey guys?" I said, as everyone pointed their direction towards me.

"What if we die?" I was worried.

Eddie looked at me concerned, as no one responded and stood still, before going back to their original conversation.

I got up and stormed out, Steve trying to go after me, but Eddie stopped him.

I sat outside the back of the house, where I broke into tears. I then got up, and ran into the woods, and got maybe a mile in before i got a massive headache.

I crouched down for about ten minutes before I heard crunching of leaves and footsteps.

I then sat completely silent, before hearing a faint voice.

"Lydia?? Lydia!" A low voice yelled.

I looked around and saw no one. Until, I backed up into someone, and screamed.

I turned around to see a worried Robin behind me.

"Lydia! It's just me okay?" She smiled as she wrapped her arm behind me, giving me a side hug as we walked out.

"You were gone for so long, I thought you were dead, and god how I almost shit my pants walking in here." She said as she flicked her flashlight on and off.

"I just. Need a break." I sighed.

"Yeah no I totally get it, I mean everyone's shocked about you and Steve- but that's all that dingus does! He practically manipulated you into sex!"

"No, he didn't Robin." I frowned.

"Oh. Well I don't know how Eddie feels but he didn't seem surprised when people noticed how long you were gone for. But we have to stick together because of Vecna."

Me and Robin finally walked back inside, and saw everyone relief themselves as I was still alive and well. Eddie didn't seem too impressed though.

I sat back down in a corner as everyone talked more. Their voices got more faint as I kept zoning out.

"Lydia? Lydiaaaa!" Nancy waved her hand in front of my face, as I turned and looked at her.

"Me, you, Steve, Robin, and Eddie are going to the lake. There's a portal there. Come on."

I got up and followed them to the lake, where I got in the boat with them, and Dustin, Lucas, and Mike and will stayed back in the woods with Max, who apparently was able to survive vecna after Chrissy. This was all happening way too fast for me.

One thing led to another and we were all diving in the water, where we found the portal, turning to the upside down.

"So this is it huh?" Eddie said, as everyone looked scared.

We walked until we saw Steve getting attacked by weird bat things, and immediately we all went into panic mode, Eddie hitting the bat, and Nancy doing the same, as me and Robin stood scared out of our minds.

I did not want to see Eddie or anyone else die, or get hurt.

Nancy hit the last bat, and we all figured out what to do. We went to skull rock, and after to Nancy's house.

"So let me get this straight, you, Nancy wheeler, have guns, plural, in your bedroom?" Eddie said surprised, as we walked to her house.

I kept noticing how Nancy looked at Steve, and I walked next to her.

"Your still in love with him aren't you?" I said.

She smiled at me. "It's confusing, he's not the one I love, yet I still feel something." My face went straight.

She was exactly right. It's confusing. Although for me, Steve was not the one I loved, and I didn't feel anything, but at this point, I didn't know if Eddie still did for me.

A/N : sorry this chapter has a lot going on in such a short amount of time but I'm so excited for volume 2!!!! And also can't wait for y'all to read the next few chapters!! SPOILER : Eddie and Lydia are gonna be so cute together in the next chapters!
