Matt

Our Sunday practices are the most unpredictable brutal thing that we have to endure every week.

Coach Aldine seems to think that by having a strict schedule throughout the weekday practices that the Sunday one should be something new and unplanned every single week.

He says it's something unpredictable to be predictable in our lives.

I think he just wants to give us something to worry about.

It's literally just his way of keeping us in line.

And it is completely mandatory, no excuses unless you have a limb falling off or you have the most valid excuse ever.

This week he has decided to grace us with the most excruciatingly painful three hours of cardio that I've ever endured in my whole life.

We had the choice to swim or run for the full three hours or do his workout. I don't know which one was worse, but sadly we chose coach's workout and I deeply regret it.

Coach's Cardio Catastrophe:

Jump rope 5mins

Burpees 45x

Running in place 5mins

High knees 5mins

Squat jumps 45x

Wall sit 5mins

Pull ups 30x

Push ups 50x

Russian twists 3mins

Run the track 15 laps

Stair climber 30mins

Bicycle 30mins

The stair climber and bicycle are meant to be our pre-cool-down cool down but I won't lie, I'm not feeling very cool right now.

Not one of the twenty-odd guys in the gym right now has a shirt on, and we all look like we jumped straight in the ocean.

Like we're disgustingly sweaty and gross looking.

"Felix bro, I love you, but I am going to kill your father. This is fucking insane. I'm dying." Alex takes a swig of his water while he pedals on the bikes.

"I'll help." Felix says as he wipes his forehead with a towel.

Darius shakes his head as he walks up the step climber. "Y'all maybe this pro ball thing is a no-go for me. This ain't even half as vigorous as that shit'll be, and I'm already dead."

"That's what I'm saying, bro. This shit is insane." I laugh, "Also who do we think we are? Thinking we can get onto NFL teams, that's laughable."

"Amigos, relájense." Felix says. "You both are rated in the top 10 list of up and coming football players in the state. I think you will be fine."

Alex pushes my shoulder slightly, "Yeah, and like this is only highschool and y'all are only 18. You have a few years of playing in college to prepare you and make you even better."

"S'pose." Darius shrugs.

When I say this school is not only filled with people who are just insanely rich but is crawling with famous people or children of famous people, I mean it.

Just in my friend group we have Brooke and her million followers.

Alicia and her sister Gianna are the daughter of the two time Academy Award winning actress, Jenny Waldorf.

Felix's dad –our Coach, Alejandro Aldine was on the Colombian soccer team for one season before he broke his hip.

But Darius' dad is a legend. He's a prick. But he's still a legend in the football world.
