I am laying full starfish mode in bed, spread out over the four corners.

Maxen wasn't on my flight, Carlos was.

The sun drizzles in the small room, right onto my face.

I am a mess, in desperate need of a shower.

Especially after last night.

A smile fills my face as I think back about last night, last night and Carlos.

My head spins when I try to remember all the places he took me to.

We were definitely dancing on the beach, I can still feel the sand between my toes.

What else?

We ate tapas in this really small lovely restaurant, there wasn't a moment of silence between us.

A thick fog clouds my mind.

Drinks, there were a lot of them.

Maybe that's why I can't remember everything clearly.

We danced, a lot, Carlos was a blessing in disguise.

Maybe I should drag myself in the shower, clean up a bit.

Or maybe not, then in my mind the happy night can continue.

A hard knock on my door chases my thoughts away.

I curse loudly as I try to grab some clothes from the floor and stumble over towards the door.

Carlos is leaning casually against the doorframe holding two coffees in his hand.

A smile fills his face as our eyes lock.

"Morning" I stammer.

"You haven't seen the time yet." he smirks.

"It was morning when I left here." he adds.

My cheeks turn crimson as a million thoughts race through my head.

Carlos steps in, he looks completely at ease and especially showered.

A cute smile fills his face as he looks at me.

"Did I wake you?" he smirks.

"No" I stammer.

"I was just thinking about last night." I manage to add.

And then he looks intrigued at me.

He takes a step closer, our bodies almost touching.

And he looks intently at me.

His hand moves over towards my cheek, softly cupping it.

"I dreamed about last night as well." he whispers.

"Especially over one part." he adds.

Ooh no, what did I do? Think Michelle, Think.

Panic settles in my body.

And then he looks amused at me.

"You don't remember, do you?" he smirks.

He softly brushes a hair lock out of my face.

"We drank a lot over the night, we danced a lot over the night. The further we got, the more sensual everything became." he softly says, moving even closer to me.

"What did we do?" I stammer.

"We kissed." he softly smiles.

And then I remember it clearly, in the middle of the beach we couldn't stop ourselves and kissed each other.

It was breath-taking.

"I can see you remember now." he smiles.

"Carlos." I stammer.

"I know, I know. You and Maxen." he says.

"Last night, it has been a long time since I had that much fun. Let alone someone I could talk to so easily and so freely." he confesses.

I softly lay my hand against his cheek.

"Thank you for everything." I smile.

"You are welcome." he answers.

"Now go shower, there is still so much for you to see." he laughs.

As the water hits my face, the fog in my mind finally starts to disappear.

My thoughts wander between Carlos and Maxen.

Well the latter isn't here.

I change into a midi Olive dress with a ribbed texture and look in the mirror.

My wet curls hang loosely around my shoulders and I smile.

I step back inside the living room, ready to see where Carlos is taking me today.

And then my breath falters.

Maxen.

Maxen is here.

He stands eye to eye with Carlos, right here in the middle of my rented living room.

"Maxen" I stammer.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"I am pretty sure that this trip was my birthday gift." he smiles.

"But you sold your seat." I state.

"I did, it was stupid. But I didn't realize that until your brother came over yesterday." He responds.

"Mason came to your house?" I ask startled.

"Yeah. He told me what happened with Lucca." Maxen answers.

And then his eyes land back on Carlos.

"Who is he?" he asks and I can hear the hostility in his voice.

"Carlos, the one that got your seat." I clarify.

"The one that showed me around Barcelona, when you stood me up." I add.

"I am here now." He says.

"To hurt her again?" I hear Carlos say.

Maxen looks from me to Carlos.

"You didn't see her face when I took your seat. She was heartbroken." He continued.

"That didn't last long, I see." Maxen replied.

"Why are you here?" I ask.

"For you. To at least be able to say it back." He whispers.

"Say what back?" I ask.

"That I love you as well."

I look baffled at Maxen.

"But you needed to hurt me this much to realize?" I ask.

"I am quiete stupid." he smiles.

I feel how both pairs of eyes are on me.

"Mitch, don't throw us away, don't be as stupid as I was. I am here, I want to discover the city with you." Maxen says.

I look back from Maxen towards Carlos.

"You are not over him and you still have a lot to talk about." Carlos replies.

He smiles at me and walks up to me.

"You have a place in my heart, find me when you are ready." He presses a soft kiss on my forehead and before I can say something else he walks out the door.

And then I am left standing face to face with Maxen Vickson.

He doesn't hesitate, he grabs my arm, pulling me closer and in seconds devours my mouth.

A huge smile fills his face.

"I love you Mitch." He whispers.

I look at him, something thugs at my heart, but I don't know what it is.

"I'll make it up to you, whatever it takes."
