Chapter 9: The Attack On Las Vegas

The sands fall like water rushing down a river, a chill on the spine and a pain in the liver, to draw a line, to fear and quiver. your time is up, you're here to deliver.

The Sun beamed down on Joshua as he took a final step in his travels, stopping outside an old water planet where he could find Chloe's bike. He turned on a commlink and used it to talk to everyone at the warehouse. "I followed the tracks to an old water plant. Looks closed off so this must be it. I'm gonna send you guys a frequency so follow it closely. Stay safe."

"You too Joshua" Paul said into his commlink as he and Chloe were getting ready. He put the commlink down and shouted over at Chloe who was looking out a window" "Is Tommy here yet?"

"No... Damn, we need those bikes from him." She said as she started to worry. 

"Don't worry, he won't let us down." Paul said as he looked down at his top headgear. He thought about not wearing before thinking about the next encounter with Xolo. He decided to put it on as he stood up, now being in full Vigilante gear. 

"He's here!" Chloe exclaimed as she walked outside, Paul followed. Tommy got out of his buggy which was attached to some sort of cart which held two motorcycles.

"That's it?" Paul said, wanting to be as prepared as possible. Tommy nodded as he noticeably did not start to unload the bikes. "Sinchoski didn't agree with you..." 

Paul was confused. "Yeah i'd figure?.." Chloe stood beside Paul as she got a feeling something was up.

Tommy frowned. "Sorry kid." Suddenly half of the ENTIRE VPD came out of hiding as this was a setup. 

Paul was furious at Tommy. "You-..wh-" Paul's fury left as soon as he remembered that this wasn't a good way to react. "Why tommy why!?" Paul looked at him as they were surrounded by police.

Tommy frowned. "Not my choice." He then began to walk away as Chief Officer Sinchoski walked over to Paul. He had short blonde hair and even looked like a snake by his expression. "Long time no see?" He said in smug fashion as Paul would simply reply with...

"Fuck you."

There was some moments of silence as Paul and Chloe were handcuffed. Sinchoski walked over and punched Paul as hard as he could in his mid-section. "NOW you listen to ME, i am sick of your caped crusader comic book bullshit!. You are not a cop. YOU DO NOT HELP PEOPLE" Suddenly Chloe spat on Sinchoski as he then went to hit her. Paul instantly saw this and got in the way as he took a punch to the chest. Sinchoski was a man of power, he could do whatever he wanted especially without civilians around. He then started to beat Paul as hard as he could as Chloe pleaded and begged for him to stop. Sinchoski turned and pointed at her. "You SHUT the FUCK up!" Paul started to bleed out as he had no defense. Tommy watched by the bikes as he started to hate himself, he wished he could stop this but it would be suicide. 

"You like terrorising MY town huh?" Sinchoski said arrogantly as he kicked Paul again and again. You WILL leave Vegas. you hear me?" Paul didn't respond as he was beaten so badly. Sinchoski grew impatient as he grabbed Paul by the chin. "I SAID, DO YOU HEAR ME-" BAM Shots began to fly across the warehouse as multiple Officers went down like dominos. "Fuck!" Sinchoski ran like a coward and didn't help his team. The Officer with the key to the handcuffs went down, Chloe saw this and looked both ways before crawling over to the officer. She used her teeth to bite onto the key as she managed to get it. "Hey? are you okay? talk to me!." She was clearly worried for him as she crawled over and saw that Paul wasn't moving. "No..No! Wake up!. Wake up please..please." Chloe began to sob quietly as Paul looked dead. She slowly looked around before seeing the people that shot the officers. It was a blessing in disguise as she saw NCR Rangers. Her eyes lit up. "Hey! Help us! Over here!!" She shouted out as the leader would walk over to them. They took out some sort of blade as Chloe would panic before the ranger would cut her cuffs in half. She gasped and quickly unlocked Paul's cuffs as she looked at his beaten bloody face. "Oh my god..oh my god"
