"From what I understand, he did the same thing to you." Cynthia said as Jennifer awoke to find herself hanging from the rafters of an abandoned warehouse. "But you were saved by your lover."

"My husband." She said in a weak voice. Jennifer was already in rough condition. She bore a would-be small scar above her eye as her lip was busted and scratches were all upon her body.

"Right. Some people get that luxury to marry the men they love...I didn't. You took that from me. I thought about it....I don't want to kill Colin. You could just find someone else. Someone who will take his place. But nothing can take the place of a child-"

Jennifer went insane. Trying to kick her, trying to pull the ties free, she realized how psychotic this woman truly was.

"You cannot replace a child. I want you to suffer and this is how. But I want you to live with the torment so the way I do it-I must be careful to not kill you-yet anyway..." She let out a loud laugh. Turning toward a table, she turned back toward Jennifer with a fire poker. "It has been sitting in the fire for six hours. Enough time for it to hurt. Even slightly more than childbirth..."

"You will never hurt this baby. Think of Jenny. If this were her!" Jennifer pleaded with tears building up in her eyes.

"That no good child is not a blessing! She's a damned curse! I was plagued with her and can't wait to rid her-only a few more years. Not too long I suppose."

"Every life..." Jennifer struggled to get breath. "Is valuable."

"Not Colin's and certainly not this child's. You are hardly showing anyway so I may just have to wait until you are showing more. To have any effect..."

"You can take my sanity, but never my love for my family."

"We'll see about that..."
