Always in 3rd Person POV

11 November 1983

Five days after Will Byers went missing.

Music drowned out any and all sound, the guitars piercing the silence with ease. A young boy, about 17-18 years old sat against the side of a seemingly abandoned building. Shifting his wrist out of his jacket sleeve, he looked down at his watch and read the time, "shit...I need to get home. Uncle's gonna kill me!" He frantically stood up from his sitting position, headphones falling onto the cement beneath him. "Shit!" The brunette leaned down, fingers grasping around the plastic. Widened eyes checked his watch once more, "2:58..." He attempted to speak between panicked breaths, "...shit shit shit shit shit-"

A piercing screech broke the silence of the night, along with the heavy flapping of wings. The creature followed the young boy, eyes faintly glowing a crimson hue as they both rounded a corner. Its skin was a pale cream tone, almost slimy in texture. Teeth sharpened to that of razors, nearly biting through its own lip. Its wings resembled that of a bats, looking close to the same leather material that draped over the boys shoulders.

The highschooler turned around for a brief moment, eyes catching sight of the creature following close behind. "JESUS CHRIST!!!!" His voice creaked out, sounding similar to that of a prepubescent tween. Legs speeding up before his mind could register, he sprinted down a dark alleyway in an attempt to ditch the bat-like being. To no avail, the bat turned just as sharp...if not sharper than the poor boy. "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME!?!?" This earned a loud, deafening scream from the creature

Hands reaching up, he cupped his ears in an attempt to ignore the noise. Losing his balance, he fell to the ground with a painful thud. "Shit..." The boy grimaced, backing away from the bat with fearful eyes. The creature almost sniffed, like it could smell the boys fear as it closed in on him. "Get back!" He yelled, "GET BACK!!!!" His voice cracked as he swung his backpack around like a weapon. The bat backed away for a split second, screeching in response to the failed attack as it sped towards the boy with an inhuman speed

"No no no no no no no nooooo" he called out, eyes welling up with tears as his back hit the brick siding of the building. "I don't wanna die..." The boy sobbed, "...I don't wanna-" before he could go on any further the bat zipped down and latched onto a bit of the child's flesh. "Ahhh-" he choked on his own words as the creature tore into his skin. The boy writhed around, agonising pain coursed through his body like that of a mack truck running into him with full force. "Sh-..it" he stammered, the bat soon unlatching after it got its fill.

The boy lay still on the cold pavement below, eyes still wide open as his blood spilled out of the very open wound. If you were to walk up and feel for a pulse, you'd find a faint, almost unnoticable one. The young teen was all but dead at this point. Hair disheveled, headphones broken beyond repair, and clothes that were practically ripped to shreds from his fight for life.

Minutes flew by, no one found him yet. The town had been too busy looking for another kid to register any other form of carnage going on. The noise had stopped, nothing but silence had filled the air around him. The boy suddenly inhaled a bunch of air, coughing as he began to slowly sit up. Eyes blinking slowly, he coughed up mouthfuls of stale blood. "What the-...I'm alive!? Haha! I'm still alive!!" He looked down at his watch, checking the time as he sighed and saw that it had broke. "3:33" he scoffed, "how ironic..."

Using the building beside him, he steadied himself enough to stand up, "shit..." Suddenly, and I mean suddenly, a wave of thirst and hunger washed over him. "...ah...I ate like an hour ago..." He nearly dry coughed out the words. On his way home, he came by a water fountain and placed his things down on the ground before taking a huge drink. The cool water coated his palette with a refreshing taste...but it wasn't satisfying anything. If anything, it made his hunger worse. "Why is this not working!?" He almost growled, "why am I ravenous...? What happened to me? I don't like this..."
