Eddie had just woken up, the sun beaming into his eyes as he squinted in retaliation. Turning his wrist, he looked at his watch and rolled his eyes. "Fuck...it's so early-" laying back down, the metal head covered himself with the tarp and attempted to fall back asleep. He was holding onto a strand of hope that everything would sort itself out, that hed be able to graduate and not get arrested for supposed murder.

Static broke the silence, Dustin speaking on the line, "Eddie..."

Eddie sat up, grabbing the metal box and clicked the talk button, "Yes, Henderson?"

"I wanted to tell you that so far..." Dustins voice was filled with excitement, "...I've felt normal. So...your water, is safe."

Eddie knew what he meant, a wave of relief crashing into his head. He was thanking whatever god would listen, grateful for eternity that his bite wasn't contagious. The vampire couldn't help but tear up at the fact that he no longer had to kill to eat, he could simply bite and get his fill without fear of turning the other person.

"What do you mean his water is safe? Isn't all water safe?" Steve chimed in the conversation, confusion laced in his words.

"Eddie wondered if the water near the boat house was safe to drink so I tried a bit and..." Dustin spoke through the walkie talkie, "...its safe!"

Steve audibly sighed through the device, which caused Eddie to laugh a little at him. The metal head must've had his finger on the button because he earned a "shut up!" from Steve.

Dustin broke the tension by asking if Eddie needed anything. Eddie smiled faintly, pausing before he spoke to check if he had any lingering hunger to deal with. He sensed a small spark in the bottom of his throat as he pushed the talk button, "I could really use a drink right now, Henderson"

Dustin immediately knew what he meant and spoke back quickly, "I'll be right over. Steve! If you're still there, can you give me a ride over?"

Steve rolled his eyes, "yeah...sure. But you better be ready in 10 or I'm going home."

"Aye aye Captain."

Eddie waited by the window, keeping watch for the two dinguses as he played with his rings. It didn't take long before he heard and saw a car pulling into the driveway.

Dustin looked over at Steve in the vehicle, "I'll head in first, when i give you the signal then you can come in." Steve went to comment but Dustin held up a finger, "don't argue...we need someone to keep watch. Its daylight, Eddie could be found easily."

Steve couldn't argue with that, he could see Eddies fluffy brown hair from the car. "Fair enough. But if I don't get the signal after like 15 minutes, Im coming in. Understand?" Dustin saluted as he grabbed the bags of food stuff and drinks and headed towards the boat house.

Eddie watched as the boy headed closer, his nerves relaxing as he opened the door up for him when he got close enough. He smiled, letting the younger inside as he sat on the paint can hed been using as a chair. "You know the drill...if it gets to be too much-"

"Tap your shoulder. Yes, I know." Dustin smiled, rolling his sleeve up to expose the skin as he gave Eddie a nod to start. Eddie gently grabbed Dustin's arm, and brought it to his lips.

"Hey Henderson, wanna see something cool?" Eddie asked, earning a quick succession of nods from Dustin. The metal head simply smiled, letting his fangs sharpen. Dustin watched in awe, seeing his friends canines grow longer but not too long. Seeing how the gums accommodated for the extra tooth, and seeing how the brunettes eyes changed colour. It was something he'd only seen in film, never in person. "Cool right?"
