Max sat there, realising that she may have to change tactics if she wanted to lure Vecna in, "what are you waiting for asshole? I'm right here. I'm right where you want me." She croaked out, eyes fluttering open and closed as she remembers one thing Vecna told her when they had first interacted. "Fine..." She swallowed her pride, swallowed down every little thought and admitted one thing that she swore to herself that she wouldn't dare speak aloud, "...you were right, again. A part of me, somewhere deep down...was happy Billy died."

Lucas couldn't believe what he was hearing, but he couldn't retaliate or say anything with fear of letting Vecna know she wasn't here alone wrapping around his throat like a seal.

"He was an asshole. Who wouldn't want him dead-" She tried to laugh through it, failing as more tears streamed down her cheeks, "-he drove like a maniac. So...some days, Id visualise him crashing, wrapping his car around a tree somewhere-" admiting things so blatantly made her core shake with nerves, she didn't wanna be so open but she had to in order to execute the plan. If the bait isn't good, then the predator won't search for it. "So when he died, in Starcourt. I was sad, yeah...but a part of me felt- relieved. Happy that I'd never have to deal with him ever again."

Lucas seemingly turned to her, "do you really mean that?"

"Lucas-" Max looked up at him, eyes widening as she spoke again, "you're not supposed to be talking"

"Have you..." Lucas stared through her, never meeting her eyes as he seemingly stepped closer, "...ever thought that way about me?"

Max shuffled to her feet, tears flowing from her eyes, "no- Lucas never! I-" her mind was reeling, she wondered why Lucas would dare say such a thing. Why was he suddenly talking-?

Lucas leaned down to get a better look at Max, noticing her eyes were rolled back im her skull as he panic scuffed towards the flashlight and ran to the window. Blinking the light rapidly, his breathing picked up quicker than he'd wanted it to.

Max, somewhere in the back of her mind, heard a familiar voice echo through the facade that Vecna had her trapped in

He has her

She felt her hand warm up, her forearm gaining a little weight as the voice returned once more

I'm coming Max, just- just hold on a little longer

Erica saw the blinking light from the attic window, picking up her own and returning it with a deep exhale. Putting the light down, she grabbed the walkie and pressed the button, "okay- she's in...initiate phase three"

Robin felt the walkie pattern against her thigh as she registered what Erica had said and pushed the button to talk back, "she's in, move on to phase three"

Dustin felt his heart spike with fear and adrenaline as he responded, "copy that, initiating phase three" he put the walkie down, shuffling over to a bundle of cords as he plugged them in and heard the amplifiers hum to life. "Lets hope they hear this" he turned the dials all the way up, up to eleven as he nodded at Eddie.

Eddie readied himself as he let one exhale of nerves escape. Reaching up, he yanked the medium Fender guitar pick necklace from his neck and inhaled in anticipation, "Chrissy-" he licked his lips out of habit, "-this is for you" he brought the pick down, and yelped as an attempt to break his nerves. It worked fabulously as he played the down stroke and let his stage persona take over. Fangs extending, he growled a satisfactory sound as he let his fingers work the fretboard using only muscle memory.
