The gang set off for wherever Dustin's compass was leading them, using it as a weird game of hot and cold. Max still hung around Eddies side and asked him multiple vampire related questions, "So...when's the last time you fed properly?"
Eddie was at first taken aback by the question but answered in the simplest way possible, "I don't know, maybe...a day or two ago? Time sorta...flies by when you're wanted for murder." He chuckled softly, earning a slight chuckle from Max as well. She didn't know why but she was growing quite fond of him and his antics.
"How long can you go between meals?" She asked again, Eddies brow twitching in thought as his mind reeled back through his vampiric memory to find the answer. He hadn't tested it yet. He'd been meaning to, but he didn't find time to run the experiment.
"I..." The vampire started, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, "...I don't know how long I can go without sipping from the vein. Never really had the chance to test it." Eddie answered her honestly, Max noticing how awkward the question made him as she pat his arm reassuringly.
"Hey..." The redhead started, "...just let us know if you get to the insatiable side. Last thing we need is for you to have an actual murder on your hands, and a supernatural one at that." This earned a faint chuckle from Eddie, who smiled down at her.
"You definitely have a point there, Red." He smiled, the urge to pat her head growing stronger by the second.
"Hey..." She started up again, asking one more vampire related question, "...can I- see your...yknow"
Eddie knew what she meant as he looked around the area for any unfamiliar, or familiar but not trustworthy, faces. Seeing no one he let his fangs extend from his gums as he leaned down for her to get a better view.
"Woah..." She looked in awe of him, nearly reaching out to touch them before Eddie put the tooth daggers away.
"No touchy." He smirked, "they're precious and sharp as hell"
The gang stopped for a moment to look back at the strange duo that was Max and Eddie. They also took note of how dark it was getting. "Are we close yet, Henderson?" Steve asked, Dustin simply starting off in a direction as Eddie followed after him.
"Hey. Dustin-" Eddie kept following the young boy, watching as he sped walked towards the treeline, "can you slow down? Dustin! Hey-" he caught up with Dustin, who had turned to Eddie and wasn't paying attention to his footing as Eddie grabbed his shoulder to stop him from going any further, "woah woah woah...watch your step big guy"
Dustin smiled at the compass, the rest of the group catching up shortly after as Steve sighed and ran a hand through his hair, "i thought these woods looked familiar..." He earned a raised brow from the freshmen and woman in the group
"Yeah...me too" Eddie looked at Steve, knowing eyes meeting as he stated aloud, "Lover's Lake."
"How are we supposed to get to the supposed gate?" Dustin asked, Eddie soon looking at the group with a wicked grin. He ran off in a seemingly random direction as Steve went to chase after him. Eddie came across the boat he'd used to escape the basketball team resting on the ground as he grabbed one end.
"Hey...Stevie" Eddie tapped the side of the boat with his hand, a ring clanking off the wood as he looked at Steve, "can you give me a hand carrying this over?"
Steve was hesitant, the nickname throwing him off guard as he soon grabbed the other end of the boat and began backing up in the direction of the others. Max caught on as she watched Robin and Nancy run over to help carry the boat. "Thanks Nance..." Eddie smiled. The quartet reached the children and dropped the boat in front of them.
