Hawkins Bites || A Vampire Eddie Fanfic

Chapter Six | Near Dark

Robin watched the vampire before her, she saw how Eddies eyes glazed over with a clear film of tears as she stepped back. "Just breathe through it."

"How am I supposed to just breathe through this when I can hear Steve's heartbeat from here?" Eddie panicked, yelling into his knees as he curled himself up as much as possible to keep from running over. He would have stayed that way if Nancy hadn't called for the metalhead to come over.

"Eddie!? There seems to be something wrong." Nancy yelled, noticing a slight dripping substance from the bites that didn't match the crimson hue of blood. "There's some sort of...venom they injected in him"

Eddies eyes widened, the panic increasing as he ran over to Steve's side and gently swiped a bit off of his abdomen. Bringing the finger up to his lips, he tasted it and unfortunately made the connection right away, "shit..."

"What- what is it?" Nancy asked, eyes wide with curiosity and worry

"The venom they used to turn me..." Eddie answered simply, looking at Steve with worried eyes. "...I'm gonna have to suck the venom out aren't I? Unless you wanna be like me, Harrington"

Steve didn't know what to say, he was in so much agony that he wasn't thinking straight, "please Eddie..." He stammered, barely keeping his feet planted on the ground, "...help- I don't wanna die...not like this, not yet-"

Eddie understood where the other was coming from, gently pushing Nancy away. She moved back, watching as Eddie laid Steve on the ground and examined where the wounds were. "Two on the abs and one on the arm. Thank gods none of them got your throat-"

Robin had joined them, curiosity peaked as Eddie dipped down towards a bite mark. "Okay...Steve. Don't move. And just breathe..." Eddies voice was shaking, he had hoped that this wouldn't happen but it did. Fangs already extended, he sunk them into the bite mark and felt the venom drip into his mouth. It tasted disgusting, but he had to do this. The gang had no other choice, it was suck the venom out or let Steve die and turn into one of the undead. Eddie soon got all the venom out of the one bite and moved to the other side of Steve to get the next one.

Steve winced at each bite, although he could hardly feel it the wound itself was still tender. "Thank you..." He muttered, Eddie pulling his hand out to give him a thumbs up as a response as the vampire still sucked out the venom. Finishing that wound, he saw the one on Steve's arm. It was higher than where he'd bitten him before, but he couldn't waste any time to panic. Eddie latched on to the arm wound, trying desperately to not suck anything but the venom out. Yes, the vampire was starving but he wasn't insatiable yet. He didn't have time to be.

It didn't take long before Eddie successfully sucked all the venom out of Steve, backing away immediately after so he didn't do something stupid. Nancy and Robin waatched this and took note of how red Eddies eyes were. "Hey, Eddie?" Nancy asked, noticing how shaken up the guy was, "do you need to feed? You seem...jumpy. And your eyes are practically glowing"

Eddie shook his head, "I'm fine." He stated as calmly as possible, "trust me. I've dealt with way worse hunger than this" he laughed it off, hoping no one caught the pleading undertone. Nancy turned back to Steve and began to bandage the wounds as quickly as possible. Robin however, caught the pleading undertone in Eddies voice and rather than backing away...she knealt beside him and rubbed his back.

"Eds..." She softly spoke, "...you got this. We got this. If you need to feed, I'll offer my arm..." She reassured him, but only earned a scoff-chuckle from the metalhead

"Robs, I'll be fine." Eddie looked up at her, nodding for emphasis, "if I need something, I'll ask. No worries, Rob-Rob" Robin gave him a small smile, eyes telling him to keep to his word as Eddie shook her hand off, "now stop that...it feels weird"
