Dustin and Steve had just learned about the current abilities that Vecna had, soon finding out that Max was supposedly going to be his next target. Lucas, Dustin and Steve were on Max watch while Nancy and Robin chased after their Creel situation. Max had sat, writing letters as a fail safe in case Vecna got her and she wasn't able to get out what she wanted to say to each person who was close to her. She wrote one out for Lucas, Nancy, Steve, Jonathan, Mike, El, Will, Dustin, Robin, her Mum, Dad and Grandma and lastly...her late step brother Billy. She didn't wanna die without getting her final words to someone. That was her one regret with Billy, that she never got to hear his final goodbye or make amends with him.

After prying at Steve, she convinced him to drive her to Billy's grave site. Handing out the letters as they got in the car. "Henderson..." Steve asked, Dustin's attention fully on the elder, "...will this reach Pennhurst?"

"I-I mean..." Dustin stammered, "it should."

"Good." Steve put the key in the ignition and turned the car on, "always the babysitter. Always the GODDAMN babysitter" he sighed as he pulled out towards the main road. Following Maxs instructions, he soon found Billys resting place and parked closeby in case of a Vecna attack. "Hey." He turned and gave Max a stern look, "if you aren't back in 10 I'm checking up on you okay?" Max couldn't argue, simply nodding as she got out of the car and started towards Billys grave. Her heart felt heavy, eyes already welling up as she sat down before the headstone. Pulling out the brown envelope, she unsheathed the letter and opened it up. Taking a breath in preparation, she starts to read her letter. "Dear Billy..."

Steve watched over Max, glancing at his watch every so often to keep time. It had only been two minutes but it felt like 20 since he was already in a panicky state. Max kept reading her letter, tears starting to fall down her freckled cheeks as she swallowed thickly to avoid wasting time. The red-head kept reading, the world around her shifting as she came to the end of her letter, "love, your shitty little sister. Max." She went to get up, but it was too late.

Steve panicked, not sparing a look at his watch as he'd noticed a shift in Maxs' sitting position. "Its been long enough." He stated as he opened and closed the car door and almost ran over to her. He took note of her pose, seeing the letter shaking in her hands as he gazed over to her eyes and saw a milky gloss coating over them. "Shit. GUYS!!" He waved to the car quickly, hands finding a place on her shoulders as he tried to shake her from her trance.

Max turned on her heel after getting up, Billy staring her dead in the eyes as she backed away. Soon realising what happened, she started to run away. Feet moving as fast as they could carry her, she found a hiding spot behind a grave stone as she caught her breath. "You can't run away from me, Maxine." A dark tone broke the heavy silence as she started running again. Finding a red smoke cloud, she had no other choice but to run head first into it. Her heart was racing, her hands shaky as she turned to see if the creature was following her and sure enough...it was.

Dustin and Lucas joined Steve and began to panic as well, both Lucas and Steve shaking Max with all they could as Dustin just watched. "Go call the girls!! Go!" Steve yelled at Dustin, the boy stumbling to his feet as he ran to the car. Pressing the call button he practically yelled, "NANCE. ROBIN. THIS IS A CODE RED. I REPEAT. THIS. IS. A. CODE. RED." Dustin called through the walkie talkie, eyes wide with panic. When he got no response, he frantically opened the car door and hopped onto the hood. Getting to his feet, he tried again. "NANCY. ROBIN. DO YOU COPY. THIS IS A CODE RED!! I REPEAT. THIS! IS! A! CODE! RED!"

Max found herself in a muddy place, the bluish hue of the Upside Down being replaced by red. Every step through this unknown territory squelched under her step, she could still feel the creature watching her as she walked further into the cloud. Eyes scanning around, she landed on a spike with wet tentacles moving up towards a body. She recognised the body in question, seeing the skirt and jacket combo in her schools colours as she backed up. "Chrissy..." She whispered, looking around again as her eyes fell on another body. A male with a sweater vest and khaki pants on, glasses framing his face, "Fred..."
