Chapter 23: Preparations

Y/N POV

After a seemingly nice night. Clem woke up to a nightmare in tears. I comforted her and then afterwards AJ slept in our bed.

We walk into the courtyard.

Y/N: You ready to work today, bud?

AJ: Bad dreams always make me more tired.

Clem: Me too.

Y/N: Yep.

AJ: I slept better in your bed.

Y/N: Well you can anytime.

AJ: It's my turn to be lookout.

Tenn waves at AJ, and he walks over to him.

After he leaves Clem wraps her arms around me.

I chuckle.

Y/N: Already clinging to me?

Clem: You're my teddy bear.

Y/N: That I am.

I kiss her forehead and she smiles.

Clem: Mmm teddy bear.

Clem then suddenly grabs her stomach before letting go of me.

Y/N: You okay?

Clem: Yeah...I'm fine.

Y/N: Okay.

We then hear Louis and Vi talking.

Louis: I have other stuff I need to do.

Violet: What stuff?

Louis: Nothing, it's just...it's important.

Violet: Goddamn it, Louis, take this seriously, for once in your life!

Louis: I've been taking this seriously for fucking days! Almost two weeks!

Violet: So has everyone. Get over yourself!

Louis walks away.

We then walk to Vi.

Y/N: Hey beautiful.

Violet: Hey handsome.

Clem: I thought Lilly and Abel would show up days ago. I wonder why they're holding off.

Y/N: Whatever it is we can't let our guard down.

Violet: All I wanted was more time to prepare, but now this waiting sucks, and everyone's on edge.

Clem: Need our help?

Violet: Yeah, actually. Could you check on everyone, and make sure they're doing shit right?

Clem: Sure, we're on it.

Violet: Thanks, guys. I should go board up the back hallway, since Louis isn't gonna do it.

Vi goes to leave but I pull her close and hug her

Y/N: I don't want you to stress yourself out.

Violet: I can't help it.

Y/N: Well I don't wanna see you all stressed. What's something that'll calm you down?

Violet: Sleep.

Clem: You can go to sleep if you want. I'll board it up.

Violet: No I've got it. Thanks anyways Clem.

Clem: We love you Vi. We want to help you.

Violet: I love you two as well. But I can't think of anything that'll calm me down.
