Chapter 7

Somer Residence

Once we entered the house I was in awe it's so elegant. And just as I thought only family member would be here but I'm wrong. I saw Sven's friends. Steven and Carl were here too. And I'm looking for my sister when someone grab my arms.

"Cesca!" It's my sister. I hugged her. And I saw Benedict standing beside her. I let my sister go and greet Benedict.

"Happy birthday Ben!" I greet and hugged him too.

"Thank you Fran." He smiled at me and turned his sight on his brother.

"Happy Birthday Bro." Sven hugged him.

"Thank you Bro. Good thing you came. And thank you for fetching Fran."

"No problem. That's my gift to you"

"Oh come on!" He laugh.

"Hi guys!" I heard an elderly voice. And it came from I think Mr. and Mrs. Somer. They're walking towards our direction. When they reached us, Mrs. Somer turned her gazed at me and smile.

"You must be Francesca?" I smiled at her.

"Yes Ma'am. It was nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Somer" To my surprise Mrs. Somer hugged me and Mr. Somer smiled at me.

"It's nice to meet you too Francesca. And please no need for formalities. You can call us Uncle and Auntie"

"Yes Hija. Please?" She said after releasing me from her hug.

I smiled. "Yes Auntie"

"Perfect, so come on guys. Let's the dinner party begins. Sven please call Steven and Carl. We're about to start." Sven nodded and walk to where Steven and Carl were.

Sven's POV.

I'm walking towards to where my friends are. And I saw the way they look at me. Oh come on I know that looks they're having on their faces already.

"Ehem." Carl faked a cough when I reached to them. "You and Francesca came together huh?"Hmmm that's something." I just glared at him.

"Bro, why didn't you tell me this. I'm hurt. You know I like her right? How about Maica? Please Bro don't do this to me." Steve touched his heart as if he was really hurt. And Carl can't help his laugh.

I faked a punch on his stomach. "Shut up Bro! Never have I imagined I'll be with her. Okay? She's all yours. Maica will never be replaced."

Steven laughed. "Oh Bro you're so serious. But don't be so sure." And he smiled mischievously. "On that note. I'll be happy to accommodate Fran tonight."

I don't know but something's just strikes me but I just ignored it.

"She looks different tonight. Maybe I'll get lucky tonight."

I groaned, "Oh please Bro, not in here. Not in my parents' house."

Hahahha Carl laughed. "What are you thinking Sven?" He put his arms around my shoulder.

"Steven would never do that here." Carl gave a wink on Steven. And Steven laughed.

"Oh yeah, not here Bro." I glared at them. I know they're playing at me right now.

I was about to fake a punch again to Steven when someone faked a cough. I look back and it's Manang.

"The dinner is ready boys."

"Okay Manang." We said in chorus.

Steven put his arm to Manang's shoulder as we are walking towards to kitchen.

"Manang, I think I'm in love."

"You're always in love Steven." And we laughed with what Manang's said to him.

He pretend to be hurt. "Ouch Manang. This time it's real" He winked to Manang.

"To whom? Do I know this Lady?"

"Yes Manang, she's here actually."

"Francesca?" Manang asked.

"Oh yes Manang." He winked at Manang and look at me.

Manang look at me and look back to Steve. "Naku! Steven."

"Hahahaha, why Manang?"

"Don't joke around." Steven laugh and he whisper to Manang. Then she look at me.

"What is it?" I asked Manang.

Manang shrugged her shoulders and just smiled. "Nothing Hijo."

I looked at Steven, "what did you say to Manang?"

"Nothing that concerns you Bro" he smiled and left me. Carl just tap my shoulder.

And I left standing near at the entrance of our dining room dumbfounded and keeps wondering what that was?

Dining Room.

Francesca's POV.

I saw Steven and Carl came but I wondered where's Sven is.

Steven saw me and smiled at me. I smiled back. He reached to where I am sitting. I stand up to greet them.

"Hi Fran!" He greet me and I was shocked when he kissed my right cheek. And Carl was behind him and he's smiling.

"Hi Fran!" He also kissed my cheek. And I was like. What's going on with these two? I was about to greet them when I felt someone is staring at us. I look behind Carl and there he is. Sven is looking at us like there's something wrong in the way he look at us.

I heard Carl chuckled. "Bro, I'll bet 200 bucks!"

Steven laughed. "I'll bet 500 bucks Bro!" And the two continue to laugh.

And I have no idea what are they talking about. "What's that?"

Before they even answer me someone fake a cough beside me.

"Ehem, Guys if you don't mind let's have a sit, the food will be serve in a moment."

The two guys just smiled and said in chorus. "Yes boss."

"Tsk." I heard him then he look at me. "Don't mind them. Let's have a sit."

Then he sit beside me. I was like okay. He sit beside me and I didn't imagine he'll want to sit with me. And I heard Steven said,

"Can I sit beside you Fran? There's no harm with sitting beside you right?" But I felt that the question was not for me. Still I said,

"Yeah, it's fine." And then Steven chuckled. I'm really wondering what's going on. I just focus on tonight's dinner. I felt someone is looking at me. Then I look the one who's sitting in front of me.

And there I saw my sister looking at me and smiling too.

I mouthed, "What?"

Her response, "Nothing," but then again she smiled and mouthed.

"You're beautiful tonight." I just smiled and shake my head. What a night. I sighed.

We started our dinner. Everyone's laughing and had their own stories to tell and I was listening too. I also speak sometimes. But I noticed Sven was silent and will just speak if his parents or Ben will ask or said something about him.

He seems different tonight. Seems he has something troubling his mind?"

I just shrugged and continue to listen with everyone's words.
