We went to every ride there is, all that was left was the Ferris wheel. While riding up, I was looking around, seeing every ride and every food stand there was.
I looked to my left and Saw Sebastian looking at me, with an emotion in his eyes that I couldn't recognize. I blushed and tried to turn my head away but he stopped me. "You are so gorgeous, Lia, never hide that face."
I smiled, biting my lip. He cupped her face with one hand, making me look at him. "Don't do that."
"Do what?" I frowned.
"Bite your lip like that. It makes me want to kiss you."
I felt as if it was just us, all the noise and screaming disappeared. "Then kiss me."
There wasn't a moment of hesitation. His mouth was on mine, and I stopped breathing. The hand cupping my face moved to the back of my neck, pulling me impossibly close to him. Little shivers of pleasure shot through me as he deepened the kiss, parting my lips. I stopped thinking. I put my hands around his neck, digging my fingers into his hair. It was soft, silky.
He broke the kiss after what felt like an eternity and leaned his forehead against mine. "What are you doing to me?" He whispered.
My heart was beating as if I just ran a marathon, and when I opened my eyes, I saw he was already looking at me, and we both smiled like idiots and let our heartbeats calm down a bit. After the ride was over, he put his hand around my waist, and we slowly walked to the car together.
This may just be the best day I have ever had in the last two years. Thinking about the last time I was this happy, I realized it was when my mom was still alive.
We came home and I went straight to shower. As I sat on the bed, drying my hair, I saw Sebastian standing in the doorway, looking at me with a sad smile. I quickly wiped away the tears that ran down my cheeks, thinking about my mom. He walked to me and took the blow-dryer in his hands, drying my hair himself. When it was done, he sat beside me and I leaned my head on his shoulder.
"I miss her, my mom." I said, and he pulled me in for a hug, kissing the top of my head gently.
"She would be proud of you if she saw how good you were doing in your life." I looked up to his eyes and a tear escaped mine. He brushed it away with his thumb, and I smiled when he kissed both my cheeks softly.
Claire called us down. "I have some news. Firstly, I found a job in the town, it's just 15 minutes away, and I start Monday. And for the bigger news, I found a house just 5 minutes away from here. The owner is very nice, she offered that I can pay her when I will be more stable with money. And Sebastian, feel free to join us, there is enough room for you too. And Bacon of course."
"Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!"
"I will gladly take the nanny job." Sebastian said and hugged his sister tightly.
"Thank you." She laughed. "Julia, Lizzie is already crazy about you, so you can come by whenever."
"So when will you be able to move there?" Sebastian asked while we cleaned the table.
"I have to sign the contract by next week and I can move in the second I sign. The house is fully furnished, except for a kid's bed."
I remembered my mom stored all of our overgrown things in the attic. I will go look over it tomorrow and see if it is still in good condition. We all cleaned the table and Claire washed the dishes, then went to put Lizzie to sleep, so it was just me and Sebastian now.
"Angel? Could I stay here until we move to that house?" He said suddenly and looked at me pleadingly.
I smiled at him and nodded. "You can bring Bacon too, I kind of miss him."
"Come with me. Dad is at home and I will lose it if he says something. Your presence makes me calm." He stood up from the couch and started walking to the front door, so I followed him.
When we reached his house, I could see how he tensed his shoulders and I just wanted to hold his hand, so he knew I was here for him. He exhaled slowly and walked into the house, looking for the little fluffy ball.
"Well, well, look who decided to come home." I heard his dad's voice, full of venom.
Sebastian sneaked his hand around my waist to calm himself down. I put my hand over his to tell him he was squeezing a little too hard, and he loosened the grip immediately.
"Dad, I just came to get Bacon and will be out as soon as I find him." Sebastian said, and turned us in the other way, walking to the back end of the house.
"Hey little guy!" I said when Bacon ran towards me, jumping on my leg.
Sebastian picked him up and took the food bag for him, and we went back to the front door, where his dad was standing with his arms crossed and a scary look on his face. I took hold of Sebastian's hand when I saw him losing his patience. They stared at each other for some time until his dad scoffed and moved away.
"I'm moving out, by the way." Sebastian yelled, so his dad could hear him and slammed the door shut behind us.
We walked back to my house in silence, still holding hands. I figured he was in a bad mood because of the encounter with his dad, so I let him hold me. Actually, I liked the feeling of my hand in his, it just felt right. Bacon was now walking beside us and jumped around excitedly. I laughed when he started playing with a cat that was absolutely scared of him, but he wanted to play with it.
"Are you okay, Bash?" I asked, sitting beside him behind the counter, putting my hand on his shoulder. He looked up at me and nodded, smiling slightly.
I remembered tomorrow is May 5th, and I squealed excitedly. "What's with you?" Sebastian asked, surprised at my sudden change of mood.
"Your birthday is tomorrow!" I yelled, shocked he forgot his own birthday.
Claire ran down the stairs when she heard me yell. "We're having a party!"
"No we're not." He shook his head.
I slapped his shoulder. "Invite your friends, we are having a party, no excuses."
"I don't have friends." Claire and I gasped at the same time, looking at Sebastian.
"Of Course you have them! I see you in school with people all the time." He rolled his eyes.
"Just Sam, that's all. And tell Sarah she can come too. That's enough people, right?"
"Yay!" I squealed and hugged him happily.
I called Sarah to invite her here tomorrow. Of course, first I had to listen to 15 minutes of her blabbering about perfect opportunities for dating, when I told her Sebastian is living here for the week.
