📍home

when i got home, dylan walked me to my front door and then ran off to his house. i waved goodbye and went inside, darting to the kitchen where i left my backpack.

i opened it, not finding any trace of my phone.

"ugh mom!! have you seen my phone?!" i called out.

"nope! ask ella!" she said.

i ran upstairs to ella's room, knocking on the door, yet i got no response. i heard talking from in the room. it sounded like two voices. i just thought it was ella and kai, since they were twins, they were always together.

i knocked again.

"come in!" ella called out.

i opened the door to see just ella there, no kai. i was confused as to why there were two voices. until i saw my phone is ella's hands.

"ella, how many times do i have to tell you to not use my phone to call your friends!" i rolled my eyes, grabbing the phone out of ella's hands.

"ella's friends?" the voice from the phone said.

i turned the screen around seeing shay.

"oh my god, shay!" i exclaimed.

"why didn't you text me. you said you'd text me." she frowned.

"sorry i was with this guy." i said.

"this guy?" she asked.

"just the next door neighbor." i said.

"the guy who is totally hot and has eyes for olivia." ella said.

"ella shut up!!" i said, grabbing a pillow from the floor and throwing it at her.

"liv, promise me you won't leave me for your new neighbor." shay said.

"i promise shay. i don't even like him." i chuckled.

"oh come on yes you do!" ella said.

"how would you know?" i questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"just by the way you look at him." ella explained.

"you're full of it ella." i said, pointing my finger at her insultingly.

"shut up, and get out of my room." she said.

"fine by me!" i said, walking out of her room.

i sat down on the stairs, leaning on the wall next to me.

"please olivia, don't do anything stupid. i'm trusting you." shay whispered.

"i won't do anything stupid. i promise. i love you shay rudolph. for real." i said.

"i love you too, olivia clarke." shay said.

"i'm going to bed, goodnight." i said.

"good night liv." shay smiled.

i waved goodbye and hung up. the image of shay on my screen filled my dreams. there was nowhere else i wanted to be but by shay's side.
