"hey liv!" dylan exclaimed, walking out of his house.
it was 3 a.m. and i couldn't sleep. i was a bit lost without shay, but with dylan here, i felt better.
"so, you wanted to talk?" he asked.
"yeah." i sighed.
"what's up?" he asked.
"so, there's this girl. we're like, really close. and like she is really upset i moved and like, yeah. and i don't know what i'm going to do since she's like across the country from me."
"so you guys are dating?"
"basically."
"you know it's not going to work out."
"i know, but i want to make it work out."
"listen, just try your best to stay in contact with her."
"i will."
"now come on, let's go for a ride."
we jumped onto his golf cart and drove away, slipping into empty parking lots to do donuts. we stopped at domino's to get pizza.
after a while i was laying on my back, looking up at the roof of the cart as dylan drove around a parking lot.
"so, who is this girl?" dylan asked.
"her name is shay. she has blonde hair, blue eyes. she's really funny. she's so sweet, like way too kind. she smells like lavender. she makes me feel like a warm summer night, or like a big hug." i said.
dylan stopped the cart, he turned to look at me.
"you're in love with this girl." he said.
"i guess i am." i shrugged.
i lifted myself up by my hands.
"liv. don't give up, seriously. i bet you two can last, for like, a long time. i don't think she's going anywhere. plus it's summer, i bet she won't meet anyone and neither will you." dylan said.
"i guess you're right." i said.
"i am right." he said.
"you know what, let's take instagram pics." i chuckled.
