The Mikaelson Twins Return

Ric made an announcement "Given recent events, some students have expressed concern that I am not allowing you to have a say in the decisions that affect your future. And I agree. If you are expected to abide by this school's policies, it's only fair that you have a voice in how those rules are made. So, I am forming an honor council. One vampire, one witch, and one werewolf, each elected by their peers. Along with our school counselor Emma, whose vote will represent the younger students. Now, I have to go off-campus. In the meantime, I expect you to make good decisions and to vote wisely. That's all. You're dismissed." Ric and I headed for the jeep when Raphael said "Dr. Saltzman. Dr. Saltzman. Um, is there a decision coming about if Landon can stay here?" Ric said, "We are running tests on him to figure out once and for all if he's supernatural." Raphael said, "What if the results aren't clear?" He said, "Well, then I have a decision to make." Raphael said "Well, can the honor council decide? Isn't that the point? You know that we have, like, a say in stuff like this?" He said, "If it comes to that, and we determine he's not a danger, then yes." Raphael said "Thanks. You're not gonna regret this. Dr. Saltzman." MG said "Hey. Hi. Um, do you have a minute to talk about Kaleb?" He handed me his back "Started the car please." I took it and the keys and headed to start the car.

By the time he got to the car, so did Hope who said "Are you kidding me?" He chuckled "Am I under assault today?" Hope said, "You two get to interrogate a tree nymph, and I have to run Landon's andMe." I said, "First of all, it's a dryad, not a nymph." He cut in "Second of all, I need a witch to run the testing spells." Hope said, "Get Emma to do it." He said "She can supervise, but she's busy managing the school in my, I'm sure, unbearable absence. Plus, if Landon can convince you that he belongs, he can convince anybody. Ember is coming because I don't trust her not to kill him." Hope said, "You're enjoying this." He said "I am. I left your instructions in my office. Try not to kill him. Let's go Em." I got in the car and we drove to where the dryad and Dorian were waiting. Before we walked in I cast a spell on myself so no one could lie to me. Ric said, "Uh, anything yet?" Dorian said "Just some light judgment. You're a dryad, right? The living spirit of a tree. Uh, it says here that, uh, dryads were gentle creatures who lived among humans." Ric said "Well, we're not your enemy. We're just looking for answers." she said "Humans are known to lie, and she is not human." Ric said "So are monsters and no, she is special." she said "There is a man I cherish named Oliver. If you bring him to me, I will believe that you are trustworthy, or what passes for it among your species. Only then will I answer your questions." 

Dorian said, "Whoa, we're not negotiating, right, Ric?" Ric looked at me and she was telling the truth so I gave him a nod and he said "Uh... What should we tell this Oliver?" she said "Show him this ring. It belonged to him. He will come with you. I will give no further answers until he does." I said "What if we don't take the deal?" she said "Trees are patient. Humans are not." I crossed my arms "I'm patient." she said, "You will die eventually." I said "Maybe once, but I will come back. I cannot truly be killed, I am immortal." she said, "What is your name immortal one?" I said "Ember." she took a step away from me, "I've heard of you." I said "You have?" she said "You have a reputation little one. When I was free from the dark place I heard a voice in my head it said "Beware the Dark Ember. You terrify someone." I scoffed "Well clearly not enough." Dorian said, "Come on Em, let's go talk to Bonnie." I smiled and followed him out the door, We got in the car and I said "Bonnie is Caroline's friend right, I've heard Josie and Lizzie talk about her." Dorian said "She is. But keep in mind she might not take to kindly to you, your father did terrorize her. So show her you are a sweet little girl please." I said "Are you trying to say I'm not nice?" he said "Leo." I said, "That's not fair, he was being mean to my sister." I sighed "My dad terrorized everyone, even my mother. But ill behave, I promise." he said "Good." and pulled up to a house. 

We walked up and I knocked on the door, a beautiful woman opened the door, "Dorian whats going on?" he said "Ric and I need your help." she nodded and opened the door wider and stepped out of the way. We walked in and Bonnie said, "Well I'm glad she isn't a vampire, who are you?" I said "Not yet anyway, I'm Emberlyn Mikaelson." she said "Mikaelson as in..." I nodded "I am the youngest daughter of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall." she nodded "That's right, Caroline mentioned you and your sister went to her school. Dorian what do you need?" he said, "I need you to track someone, using his ring." I held the ring out and she took it then said, "Why can't you do it?" I said, "I can." Dorian said, "She isn't allowed." Bonnie said "Why not? I mean she is a witch isn't she?" I looked at Dorian interested in what he'd tell her so he sighed "Because we limit what she is allowed to do. She isn't like you, Bonnie, she has a natural instinct for dark magic, even her good spells are boosted with the dark magic in her. She is too powerful to allow her to do magic anytime she wants." Bonnie said, "Well in this house we don't limit witches, Come on Emberlyn I want to see what you can do." I looked at Dorian who sighed "I won't tell Ric if you don't." I grinned and sat in front of the map, she handed me the ring and I held it in my fingers above the map. I closed my eyes as the darkness started to stir and I whispered "Sequitur." then dropped the ring. 

I looked at the map as I heard the clang of the metal hitting the table, I said "He's there." the ring landed on the location Oliver was currently at, I stood up and Dorian said, "Well let's hope he is willing to come with." Bonnie said "Actually can I keep her for a little while? I'll get her back to school before curfew." Dorian said, "Yeah, ill let Ric know, but keep an eye on her." I rolled my eyes and leaned against Bonnie as she wrapped her arms around me. He left and she said, "Where did you learn to locate like that?" I turned to sit on a chair and said "It was in my grandmother's grimoire." she said, "You have Esther's grimoire?" I said "Yeah, Hope and I took it when our parents died. Caroline said you didn't know you were a witch till you were my age?" she nodded "Yeah my grams told me when I was 16." I sighed "I sometimes wish I didn't know I was." Bonnie sat next to me and laid her hand on my leg "Why? Whats wrong?" I said "Would you want my life? I and my sister's been hunted by everything under the sun and now we have dragons and gargoyles and dryads, who by the way are scared of me which is ironic considering she's the monster. I just..." She said "Wait. Who's scared of you?" I said "The dryad, she said the second she was out of the darkness she heard a voice that said to beware the Dark Ember. Which is a nickname I was given by the Hollow when I was 7. I just can't win, Dr. Saltzman, Dorian, and Emma don't trust me, my parents are dead, my sister is obsessed with the boy who started all the monsters, my family hasn't contacted us since my dad died, and... I just feel alone." she draped a blanket over us cuddling up with me and said, "I get that." 

I laid my head on her shoulder as she continued "Being the only witch in my friend group made me feel alone, my mom abandoned me when I was a baby, and my father never wanted to know anything about my witch side, then my grams died. I also feel alone most of the time." I said "How do we solve this problem?" she said, "Let me see your phone." I said "We're not allowed to have phones at school." she said "Hold please." and pulled out her phone and dialed a number. After a minute of ringing Caroline's face popped on the screen, she said "Bonnie! Hey Em, whats going on?" Bonnie said, "Oh I was just getting to know this sweet girl, how come she doesn't have a phone?" Caroline said, "Because she goes to a boarding school, for the supernatural, and the kids aren't allowed in town so all their friends go to their school." Bonnie said, "Well I'm getting her one." I was shocked "You are?" Caroline said, "Why does she need a phone?" Bonnie said, "Because she needs someone to talk to and I am going to be that person, she told me her family doesn't talk to her." Caroline sighed "Yeah Freya and Hayley used to talk to them every week and Hayley came to the school for their birthday but after Hayley and Klaus passed away no one has seen them." Bonnie said "See. She needs a phone." Caroline laughed "Bonnie you live five minutes away why don't you just go see her?" Bonnie said, "That's the plan but she needs a phone and I'm doing it." Caroline laughed again "Fine buy her a phone, Em the phone she gives you is to talk to her or me, but no social media, and I don't want you on it all the time because the others will get jealous and that can be dangerous." I said "I promise Caroline." she said, "Ok, I'll let Ric know so he doesn't try to confiscate it." Bonnie said "Thanks Care, I'll talk to you later." she hung up and we spent the day talking and laughing and practicing magic. It was so much fun, then she bought me a phone and programmed hers, Ric's, and Caroline's numbers in there before taking me back to school.
