!!! TW MENTIONS OF DRUGS AND SMOKING !!!

FRIDAY, MARCH 21ST 1986 | HAWKINS, INDIANA

after getting rejected by melissa coming along, eddie had stepped in his car and drove to the woods. as he arrived at the place he'd agreed to meet chrissy cunningham, he parked his car and walked towards the picnic bench. seeing chrissy, he wondered why she was so uptight. as he walked towards her, expecting the girl to turn around, chrissy didn't. she walked backwards to the point where she bumped into eddie's figure who apologised.

"you okay?" eddie worried when he saw the fearful look on chrissy's face.

she turned to look behind her at some tree and looked back at him with the same fearing look.

"yeah, i'm fine. you got the stuff?" chrissy dismissed.

not trusting the girl's response, eddie's look on his face said the words for him, but he shrugged it off. he held a box up in the air and put it on the wooden bench chrissy had already taken place at.

removing his jacket from his body, eddie couldn't help but think the worried look on chrissy's face was because of what they were about to do.

"there's, uh... there's nothing to worry about, okay? no one ever comes out here", he tried to calm her, "we're safe. i promise."

eddie opened the metal box and waited for chrissy to say something.

"so, how does this work exactly?" chrissy asked, referring to the sale.

"oh, just like any other old sale, except, uh, cash only, and, uh, for obvious reasons, no receipts", explained the curly-haired.

after noticing chrissy's uncertain look, eddie picked up a small bag from the box and tried to make his sale.

"i'll do you a half ounce for, uh... 20. what do you say? plenty of bang for your buck. should last a while", eddie said.

as soon as he spoke the words, chrissy turned around in fear and gasped. it looked like she had done something and was afraid to be caught. dead afraid. noticing it, eddie took the box and closed it.

"hey, uh, we don't need to do this. just... give me the word and i'll just walk away. okay?" he sighed.

"no," chrissy denied, "it's not that. i don't want you to go. it's just... do you ever feel like you're losing your mind?"

uncertain of the hesitation in chrissy's voice, eddie decided to just answer her.

"uh, you know, just... on a daily basis", he smiled, "i mean, i feel like i'm losing my mind right now doing a drug deal with chrissy cunningham, the queen of hawkins high."

and head of the cheerleaders, eddie thought of it as a tribute to melissa.

"you know, this isn't the first time that we've, um, hung out", eddie mentioned.

"no?" chrissy asked in disbelief.

"you don't remember?" eddie asked with a straight face.

chrissy shook her head as if she felt terribly sorry.

"i'm sorry, no", she apologised.

"that's okay", eddie nodded.

just then, he held his fists as if he had a knife and moved them to his heart as if to stab himself, causing chrissy to gasp. eddie fell off the bench, but stood back up quickly.

"i wouldn't remember me either, chrissy", eddie voiced, causing the girl to laugh, "honestly, do i have stuff in my hair?"

the girl laughed once more at eddie's silly action.
