Quick As Lightning

The sound of the slap echoes. I don't feel anything though. I can't move. I thought she was dead. I stare into her face. She looks at me with deep hatred. How could she hate me like this? I tried to save her! Actually, I didn't try. I actually, completely, saved her. The men she was with start carrying the supplies out, along with most of the metal cabinets full of information on FFA and FATE. Her eyes are darker than they used to be. Her hair is the same. But her face is harder; more stone-like. I stand and get up in her face.

"Sis, look. I was trying to save you. He was going after me, he was gonna take you away. If you thought I was gonna let some drunk D.A. take you away, then you were so dang wrong. I ain't just gonna let somebody hurt me and then take away my sister to be his little 'pet'. And what the heck are you doing here?" I say, waving my hands for emphasis. She pushes me backward toward one of her little 'minions'. He trips me, and I fall to the ground, hitting my head on some box of something I hadn't seen before. My head throbs, and I try to stand back up. She steps on my hand, and I cry out in pain. I'm kneeling in front of her, a thought repeating over and over in my mind. What is wrong with her?

"Don't you dare ... talk to me ... about him. You wanna know what happened? I loved him. I FREAKING LOVED HIM! AND HE LOVED ME BACK! I don't care if he was gonna kill you. You should've dealt with that, and accepted the end to your pathetic little life. I hated you then, I hate you now, and a thousand years from now, I'll still hate you. Joe, get the van loaded, I'll meet up with you soon." She says, her neck flushing crimson with rage. Her eyes never left mine. She's gonna kill me. The thought floats around my mind. My sister, Liz. She's gonna kill me for what I did.

"I love you, Liz. Always." I whisper, and close my eyes. She moves around until I hear a click. The gun's safety is off. She presses the cold metal to my forehead.

"Open your damn eyes. I wanna see the life leave them." I squeeze my eyes shut harder. "Open your damn eyes or I'll beat you up like old times!" I open my eyes, and find hers. I can feel her rage, anger, and hurt radiate off her. Tears well up in my eyes. I love you Will. I love you Diana. I love you Kabal. And I love you Lianna, my best friend. I love you. And I forgive you Elizabeth. I love you too.

"I love you." I whisper, and my tears fall. Maybe she's not going to shoot me. Maybe she's come to her senses. Maybe she

William's P.O.V.

I think that if I ever build a time machine, I'm going to go back to right now. No matter what. It'd be cool to have a time machine... really awesome actually.

"Kilee?" Static erupts from the audio cameras from about where Diana's room is. "Hey Diana! I ... ... to check ... you. Make sure ... ... okay." I turn the dial trying to make the voices come out clearer. "Well, you know. Life is Life." A laugh makes the static flare again. "I better go to bed now, but I'll stop by tomorrow, 'kay, Kilee?" Diana says. The static isn't acting up right now. I should turn this off after though. Taking too much power, and I'm tired anyway. "Kay!" Kilee says, and I turn off the audio. I clap twice and the lights flicker off. That is definitely one of my favorite things about this place. Laying down in my bed, I stretch and turn into my pillow. I close my eyes, and the world goes black. Until a gunshot echoes around. I leap up, opening my door. Running down the hallway, I run possible theories as to what happened. Agents shoot guns at midnight. Unlikely. A fight. Plausible. I just don't know. I hear Diana yelling. I head to her wing and stop in front of her.

"What happened?" I ask, putting my hands on my knees, trying to catch my breath.

"The supply closet." She says. "That's where the gunshot came from. I'm not going in alone." I nod and we open the door. The first thing I notice is the blood. The second is the lifeless body on the ground. The third is a girl, a gun in hand, walking away toward a hole in the wall. Diana runs toward her, sweeping her feet out to trip the girl. As the girl falls, Diana slams her on the ground by her neck and straddles her. The gun slid all the way across the room. I grab it and hand it to Kabal. He looks at the lifeless girl, tears streaming down his face. I walk toward the body.

"Who is it, Will?" Diana says, keeping the girl on the ground. No. No, no, no, no, no. Not her. Kilee's lifeless eyes stare into the distance. A bullet hole straight through her head. Her soft blond hair is soaked red, a puddle of dark red liquid seeping out from her. I see her eyes, her beautiful eyes and cheeks soaked with tears. She had been crying before her... departing. I glare at the girl under Diana.

"Take her to the jail. She will never see the light of day again. Send an elite team to take out the van. The survivors get a hearing, and will most likely face jail time as well. Diana, it's Kilee."

5 years later

"Almost done?"

"Yes, sir. Are you sure you said you'd go to that time again no matter what?"

"I'm absolutely positive." It's been five long years since she died. I'm lucky I met all the conditions to volunteer. I'm 18. I said, well thought, that I'd go back in time to that moment. That peaceful moment before her death. Now, I will go back in time and replay that part. Replay it all and save her. Save her from everything. It seems I'll retain my knowledge. It's more like replacing an old mind. They hand me a watch, and I clip it on.

"Remember the date? And time?" Dr. Litman asks, making sure its tight enough.

"June 6th, 2031. Midnight."

"Good. I'll put it in, and then you hit accept, and run. It should rewind the universe's molecules, but I'm not sure. It's a gamble. Anything and everything could go wrong. Remember, if she lives, it drastically changes what was to come. Are you sure you want to go through with this?"

"Yes." He enters the date on the Time Watch as I call it, and I hit accept, and run. Everything starts to burn. The world is moving back, back, back, and I fall forward. It's too bright. Brighter than the sun. Only it doesn't hurt. This place comes into focus and I'm alone. Until I'm not anymore. Everyone I've ever loved is here. Is this heaven? Am I dead? A building starts building itself, and kids flood inside. The sun moves forward over head until it's night and the moon rises. Then the moon disappears and the sun is back. These days are flying, moving forward too fast. And then it stops. The building and grass fade away, replaced with an island.

"What is this?" I ask, looking around. A hut appears. And a familiar girl steps out the door.

"Hey Will. What're you doing? Were you going for a swim? I was, but you ... don't look too good." She says, walking toward me. She places a hand on my forehead, checking for a temperature. "Nope, you're okay. But geez, go sit down. You got really pale."

"I... Kilee?"

"Um... yeah?" She's in her purple shorts, and blue sports shirt. And her converse of course.

"What is this?"

"Time loop? That watch looks all techno and stuff. Tried to save me from my lovely sister, did you? No, It had to happen. She needed ... closure. And besides, now we have our very own time loop! It comes with me, Lianna, Kabal, Diana, and... Matt! Don't tell anyone, but I think Diana and Kabal have really hit it off."

"Oh... okay then..." I say, and smile. It didn't matter what happened now. I have no clue how it happened but I wasn't going to figure that out now. I reach for her hand and she happily takes it.

"Leggo!" And we walk toward the sunset. I didn't save her the way I thought she needed to be saved. I saved her by being with her, I guess. But mostly, she saved me. And I'll forever love the girl with a potato and unicorn obsession. I kiss her on the cheek, and hold her tight.

So... how was it? I liked the part where I made her die... It's mostly cause I got bored and wanted to end it. Idk but I'm done with this. I actually kinda liked it... It was so much fun to write.
