A Bughead story

Chapter 27

                         ~Halloween Night~

Jugheads POV

My brain feels scrambled sometimes. But Betty she helps me unscramble it. She makes everything better. Sometimes I'll get so mad that I won't even listen to her although I know she's right. Ms. Cooper and Gladys had a long talk the day she came. But the important part is that she's gone. Anyways now we are all getting ready to go trick or treating and after that Betty and I were invited to go to Cheryl's house for a party. We aren't sure if we want to go but who knows, maybe jellybean will get tired or something.

Because the girls were going to take the longest getting ready they decided to do me first. Betty and I sat on the floor with makeup and hair products all over surrounding us. I was dressed in a black suit with stripes on it. It has a little spotted bow tie on it. It was actually quite comfortable. Betty slicked my hair back with gel and spray. It smelled a little funny. We were all making small talk and sharing our plans for the candy situation. Jellybean just wants sweets and would give all of her chocolates to Betty and Betty would give jellybean the sweets. Whatever they didn't want- I could have. I didn't mind. I love them both.

Betty put light makeup on me which was dark. She drew me a fake mustache with a little stick thing I didn't know the name of. "Wow jughead you look like a old man" jellybean said teasing me and we all laughed. "Yeah?" I said smiling and moving my mouth so the mustache would move. "Okay jellybean it's your turn." Betty said pushing me out of the way playfully. I sat on the side of jellybean admiring Betty. Her natural beauty stuns me. Jellybean was already dressed in a plain black dress with a white collar attached. Betty gathered all of jellybeans hair and pinned it back. She then carefully set a double braided black wig on her head, adjusting it to fit her perfectly. Betty clipped the wig on with Bobby pins. After that Betty began jellybeans makeup. She put this pale goo on her face. She spread it in with a sponge looking thing. It came out smoothly and gave her pale skin. Betty put some of it on her neck too. Betty then put some glossy stuff on jb's lips. She sprayed her hair with the hairspray to make sure it looked good I guess. Betty then asked jellybean to put her heels on while Betty went to go get changed. They were thick black hers with a strap that went over them. A few minutes later betty came out of the bathroom and my jaw almost dropped. She had a skintight black dress on and it had some lace on it. It had a low v neck and the long sleeves had extra fabric on them to give it a flowy drape look. It was very sexy. She looked beautiful. Her nails were painted red from earlier today. "You look gorgeous betty" I tell her and she blush's. She came and sat down to do her makeup and put her wig on. She had rings on that she took off for the wig. She brushed her hair back and asked jellybean to pin it and she did. "Thanks" says betty. "Your welcome!" Jellybean said enthusiastically. "Wow betty your doing such a great job at making us look like the Addams!" She says and it makes me feel good that they get along. "I'm trying. I've done my research" Betty winks. She puts the long black haired wig on her head and uses the hairspray to give her hair volume then pins some of it from the top. To give it a half up half down style. She puts glue on her eyebrows and I think she's crazy until she explains it's to make her eyebrows not visible so then she can draw them. It doesn't make much sense to me but I don't question. She then puts some powder on her eyebrows. I'm not sure what the hell shes doing but it's working. Once her eyebrows are gone she draws a thin eyebrow on. She puts pale goo on her face like she did to jellybean. After that she puts on red lipstick. After that she puts on sliver eyeshadow. We are all ready now. Betty struggles to put her heels on in her tight dress. "Juggie? Can you help me?" She says so innocently I had to laugh. Considering how sexy the dress fits her. "Anything for you" I say and start to help with her high heels.

Trick or treating

"Jughead!" Betty exclaimed with a twinkle in her eye. I love her so much it's ridiculous. Ms. Cooper was taking pictures of us in our costumes. We got group pictures with Betty and jb. Then me and jb, me and Betty, Betty and jb. They came out great. This is one of the rare occasions that I'm genuinely happy. "Okay that's enough! You should get going now, remember to call me if you guys need anything at all!" She says quickly and I hear the clicking and clacking of her heels. We started walking around the block. Earlier we decided we only wanted to go around the block because it's huge and we all have other plans after this. Jellybean told us she was invited to go to a sleepover tonight's with a couple of girls. Alice said it was okay and asked Betty and I to drive her there on our way to Cheryl's. It warms my heart that jellybean is making new friends considering she's only been at her new school here in riverdale for a few months. We made it to our first house and the decorations were awesome. They had a blood water fountain and huge ass spiders everywhere. There were kids all over the street. It was cool to see all their costumes too. Some headless horsemen, witches, slutty nurses and zombies. Typical. Betty and I walked hand in hand. We didn't have candy buckets because we didn't want to take it away from the other kids and besides we're almost adults. Plus we've worked out the candy system. Some nice old couple opened the door to greet us. "Happy Halloween kids! Such lovely costumes!" The older man exclaimed. "Trick or treat!" Jellybean said happily. The couple is what I vision my future with Betty as. A happy old couple. Some children that I'm sure helped them set up all the decorations. Betty was talking the womens ear off for a while and jellybean got some candy. We left after a group of kids came up to the door.  It was pretty chilly outside but it was a perfect fall night. We made our way around the block seeing tons of cool costumes and even house decorations. Some of them moves and talked. I walked hand in hand with betty and jellybean walked in front of us. Some of the houses we'd stay back and let jellybean do then by herself. During one I leaned down to kiss Bettys cheek. "Your beautiful" I'd compliment her and she blushed and smiled. " thank you handsome" She said with her voice full of life. "Betty! Jughead! They just have me a jumbo sized chocolate bar!" She said and I laughed knowing she doesn't even like chocolate. We already hit all the houses we wanted to go to but we did a few extra just because we had time. "Are you ready to head home? We'd better get going" Betty asked us and we agreed. We walked but it wasn't a big deal because we lived so close. Bettys hands were so soft and warm. "Should we leave our costume on for the party?" I ask Betty and she giggles and looks at me like I'm crazy. "What?" I ask clueless. "Jughead, it is a Halloween party and Cheryl specifically told us to wear costumes" she laughs at me again. I grow confident and put my arm around her waist and pull her close to me. We reach home and Alice is outside. "Did you all have fun!?" She said and jellybean ran up to her quickly and told her all about trick or treating. "Wow! Jb how about you go get ready for your sleepover okay?" Alice asks jb and she runs inside. Alice walks up to us and I didn't realize my arm was around Betty's waist until Betty swatted it away. It just felt natural. "When should I expect you both home?" She asks and I look at Betty. "Mom it's Halloween and a Friday. I honestly don't know. Maybe 2 AM at the very latest." Betty explains to Alice and she said that was okay. "Just have fun, but not to much fun" Alice told us as jellybean came back outside with her wig and makeup off. She was now in pjs. Betty and I walked up to her and i kneeled a little to give her a hug. "I had so much fun tonight jellybean" I said truthfully.
"Me too" she said hugging me back. Then I backed away so Betty could hug her. "I had fun too, have fun at your sleepover!" Betty said and it honestly sounded fake. Maybe she's just tired.
