3rd POV
Going back thirteen years we see Y/N leap onto the roof of a building. Clung to his back is his two year old daughter Noir. He grabs her and sits down setting her in his lap. Together they look into the beautifully lit up city.
Noir: "Pretty."
Y/N: "It sure is."
Noir: "Daddy."
Y/N: "Yes pumpkin?"
Noir: "How come I'm different from the other kids?"
Y/N: "Define different."
Noir: "Well. I'm stronger. They fall they get hurt. I fall and I don't. Why?"
Y/N: "It's because you're special, like me and your mom."
Noir: "What's makes me special?"
Y/N: "You've got abilities that others often dream of. This puts you leagues above them in terms of power."
She smiles.
Y/N: "But."
She loses her smile.
Y/N: "Just because you have abilities doesn't mean you can use them to show off. You've got a special gift Noir. And it's your duty to use them for the benefit of others. Because a person's true strength doesn't come from how much they can lift or how hard they can hit. It comes form here."
He points to her heart.
Noir: "My heart?"
Y/N: "Yes. Your powers rely on what's in it. If it's full of hate and bitterness than your powers will hold you back. But if it's full of love and willingness to care about others, then there's nothing you can't achieve."
They both look back at the city lights.
Y/N: "You've been blessed with a powerful gift. I want you to promise me you'll use it to keep the people you care about safe."
Noir: "I promise."
Noir POV
I return to the present looking at dad.
Noir: "I've upheld that promise."
Y/N: "I know. And for that I'm proud of you."
He wraps his arm around me.
Y/N: "You're destined for greatness kid. Just you wait."
I smile leaning on his chest.
Noir: "I love you dad."
He lays his head on mine.
Y/N: "I love you too Noir."
We head back home where I immediately head to bed.
Y/N POV
Noir goes to bed while I head to my library. Going to my desk I pull out a newspaper from fifteen years ago. Looking at the title it reads 'Vale hero dead, what happens now?' I stare at the newspaper when I feel a hand on my back.
Blake: "Seems like only yesterday."
Y/N: "Just proves that time flies by."
Blake: "Ain't that the truth."
We both stare at the newspaper.
Blake: "You know tomorrow is Noir's first day back at Beacon."
Y/N: "So?"
Blake: "Everyone will be dropping off their children. Meaning everyone we know will be there."
Y/N: "You think I should go?"
Blake: "You did say you wanted to get out of the house. So what better time than now?"
I think.
Y/N: "Won't people recognize me?"
Blake: "No. It's been awhile since anyone's seen your face."
She takes the newspaper putting it away.
Blake: "If not for me then do it for yourself. Please."
I look out my window to see Vale in the far distance.
Y/N: "You really think I should go back?"
Blake: "Yes."
I sigh deeply.
Y/N: "Fine, I'll go."
She smiles kissing my cheek.
Blake: "Feel free to thank me when you return."
I roll my eyes as she heads off to bed. I take one last look at Vale. Moments of the past replay. I've got so many memories there. Most good. Others bad. I sigh thinking out loud.
Y/N: "What's the worst that'll happen?"
