Come Back

Y/N POV 

Jaune: "Hey Y/N. Been a long time since we saw each other."

We fist bump.

Jaune: "What've you been up to?"

Y/N: "Life."

Pyrrha: "It's very good to see you again."

We hug.

Pyrrha: "You've grown up."

Y/N: "So have you guys."

I shake hands with Ren.

Ren: "Just shows how far you've come."

Y/N: "Yep. Now I heard you guys had kids. They are..."

Pyrrha: "Lucas is sixteen."

She leans closer.

Pyrrha: "He has his shoes marked, just like his dad."

I laugh.

Jaune: "What'd you tell him?"

Y/N: "Nothing. Ren, Nora?"

Nora: "Gertrude is strong! Like me."

I lean to Ren.

Y/N: "How's home?"

Ren: "Very... chaotic. She's definitely her mother's child."

Y/N: "I'm glad all of you are doing well."

Jaune: "We'd be better if you were around more."

The mood slightly shifts. I look down.

Y/N: "You guys know why I left. I was a wanted man. If I were to settle down then it was a given not only Blake but Noir would be hunted too. I don't want them to have to constantly look over their shoulder. I want them to live a peaceful life."

They all place their hand on me bringing me comfort.

Ruby: "We know."

Weiss: "You left because you wanted to protect them."

Yang: "All we're saying is now that it's been some time, we hope you can come back more often."

Jaune: "It's been almost twenty years Y/N."

Nora: "I'm sure they've forgot all about you."

Ren: "Yeah."

Pyrrha: "Come home Y/N."

I look to see them smiling. I return it.

Y/N: "I'll talk to Blake about it."

Their smiles widen.

Noir POV

I make it to the auditorium. Immediately I'm snatched and lifted into the air.

Noir: "Hello Gertrude."

Gertrude: "I missed you Noir!!!!"

Her head is chopped by Lucas. She yips holding her head.

Luca: "How many times I gotta tell you? Learn personal space."

Gertrude: "Sorry Lucas."

Voice: "Still as hyper as ever."

We all turn to see our final teammate/leader.

Gertrude: "Oh uh, here comes the fun crusher."

Again her head is chopped.

Tria: "I told you a million times Gertrude, my name's Tria. Call me that again and you'll lose your two front teeth."

Noir: "Spoken like your mothers."

She punches my shoulder. But thanks to my durability I don't feel it.

Tria: "So what've you been up too? More crime fighting I suppose?"

Noir: "Well yeah. Didn't you watch the news last night?"

Gertrude: "Dad says you shouldn't rely on the news."

Lucas: "I heard mom and dad talk about it. Heard you stopped a bank robbery."

Noir: "Yep. They never stood a chance."

Tria: "Sometimes I think you're too cocky."

Gertrude: "You're one to talk."

Tria: "Oh hush."

Lucas: "Shh, it's starting."

We turn to the stage to see Headmistress Glynda.

Glynda: "Greetings everyone. I'll be the first to say welcome back. I hope you enjoyed your break. While you were away your dorms have been cleaned and are expected to stay that way for at least a week."

We all look at Gertrude.

Gertrude: "What're you guys looking at me for?"

We look back at Glynda.

Gertrude: "Don't ignore me!"

Glynda: "In order to get prepared you'll all be given the rest of the day to get back into the grove of things. Use that time wisely. Because once tomorrow arrives you'll immediately start classes. If you fall behind that's on you. You're dismissed."

Lucas: "Man she don't mess around."

Tria: "I'd expect nothing less from the headmistress."

Gertrude: "Come on guys, our dorm await us!"

We all leave heading back to our dorm.
