Y/N POV
I run through main street when my scroll rings.
Y/N: "Noir?"
Ruby: "No, it's me Ruby. What happened?"
Y/N: "I told Noir the truth. I told her everything including my run as a hero. Now she has it in her head that her life is a lie."
Ruby: "That's stupid."
Y/N: "I know. But she's a kid. She's bound to over react. Can you help me find her before something bad happens?"
Ruby: "Yeah. I'll call the others and have them help too."
Y/N: "Thanks Ruby. I owe you one."
I hang up and cup my hands around my mouth.
Y/N: "Nooooiiiirrr!!! Noir where are yooooouuuu!?!?!?!?!"
Noir POV
I rub my hands trying to warm up. Why did I have to run away in my costume? It's not built for the winter. After a shiver I look down from the top of Vale Plaza. My scroll begins to ring. Looking I see it's dad.
Noir: "Nope."
I press decline sending him to voicemail. I bring my legs to my chest trying to maintain body heat. I lay my head in my arms. Tears begin to soak my pants.
Noir: "Why dad? Why did lie to me? Did you think I wouldn't understand?"
Voice: "Noooooiiiirrr!"
I crawl to the edge of the statue and look down. It's then I see dad running down the street frantically looking around.
Y/N: "Noir please come home! Everyone's worried sick!!!"
I leap down onto a roof. He stops near the alley. I hop down as he enters the alleyway.
Y/N: "Noir, are you there?"
Noir: "Stop."
He stops five yards away from me.
Y/N: "Listen, I'm sorry I never told you the truth. I was just scared that-"
Noir: "Why didn't you tell me?"
He sighs.
Y/N: "A lot of stuff happened in my past. I wasn't the most well liked. When I was finally caught I was sent straight to prison. Despite my heroic deeds half the city wanted to see me pay for continuously breaking the law."
He starts walking towards me.
Y/N: "The only reason I'm free today is because I made a sacrifice. I gave up my identity to live in absolute solitude. This meant your mom and I could never be with our friends. Less they get roped into my wanted status and be arrested for smuggling an escaped fugitive."
He's now within arms reach of me.
Y/N: "Before you were born I gave up everything so you and your mom wouldn't have to live a life in fear of police. I never told you because I feared someone would overhear and rat us out. It was never my intention to hurt you."
He finally hugs me.
Y/N: "I only wanted to protect you."
I take in his long confession. Hearing his reasons makes me become filled with regret. Regret for lashing out and jumping to conclusions. I wrap him in a tight hug as tears stream down my cheek.
Noir "I'm sorry! I'm sorry for yelling! I'm sorry for over reacting! I'm sorry for it all!"
He tightens his hug.
Y/N: "It's okay. I'm not mad."
I bury my face in his jacket.
Noir: "I love you dad."
He lightly strokes my back.
Y/N: "I love you too Noir."
He picks me up carrying me.
Y/N: "Let's get you home."
I cling to him as he walks us home.
