Robbery Failure

Noir POV

After catching up with uncle Ozpin I sneak out to the roof. I become surprised seeing dad already up there.

Noir: "What're you doing here?"

Y/N: "I wanted to give you private time with Ozpin."

I take a seat next to him.

Y/N: "That and I still ain't used to parties."

I laugh.

Y/N: "So what is it you've been up to?"

Noir: "Same as usual. Attend school and fight crime in my free time."

Y/N: "Any exciting ones?"

Noir: "Well. I fought a repeat offender."

Y/N: "Those are nice."

Noir: "Yeah, but this time was different."

He looks at me.

Y/N: "How so?"

Noir: "Well he had this ability that made his completely disappear."

Y/N: "That doesn't seem all that bad."

Noir: "Here's the kicker. It was a Faunus ability. Only problem is he ain't a Faunus."

Y/N: "A human with a Faunus ability? That's definitely strange."

Noir: "Yeah. I always believed you had to be born a Fauns in order to use their abilities. But here we have someone who proves that to be false."

Y/N POV

I listen to the account of her latest fight, and am slightly concerned. How on earth could someone use a Faunus ability if they aren't one? I think when Noir speaks up.

Noir: "Whatcha thinkin about?"

Y/N: "Not much."

A scroll begins going off. I look to see Noir showing slight annoyance.

Y/N: "Go on. I'll tell the others."

Noir: "Thanks dad."

She leaps off the roof going to street level. 

Y/N: "Be safe kiddo."

Noir POV

After retrieving my suit from Beacon I land on a roof ledge overlooking an alley. Looking down I see a group of robbers loading a truck. I leap landing on the truck roof.

Noir: "You know stealing's bad right?"

They look up dropping crates.

Man: "Crap, it's the hero!!"

Man2: "Fall back!!!"

They try to leave. I however leap onto the shoulders of one of the robbers. With a backflip I launch them into the other robber taking them both out.

Noir: "Well that was easy. Too easy in fact."

My body forces me into a leap. This spares me from a punch. But since I'm in the air I'm left vulnerable to a secondary punch. But unlike the first punch this one snaps its fingers emitting a bang so loud it rattles my ears. This bang also propels me away and into a building.

Noir: "Ugh, what the heck was that?"

I shake my dizziness away and leap out of the building. Looking down the street I see a man with tanned skin and yellow hair.  

Noir: "Who're you?"

Charlie: "Name's Charlie Hendrix."

Noir: "What was that attack?"

Charlie: "You like it? I have the power to emit a snap so loud it creates a sonic boom."

Noir: "How did you come to get this ability?"

Charlie: "Wouldn't you like to know?"

He snaps both of his fingers sending two concussive blasts at me. I leap over both of them and bring my fist down on him. He smiles snapping his fingers. A blast easily rips through my attack and launches me into a lamppost.

Noir: "This ain't good. At this rate those snaps will destroy my hearing. I gotta find a way to get close while also avoiding those blasts. But how?"

Charlie: "Feel like giving up?"

Noir: "Not by a long shot."

I shoot a web strand onto a manhole cover and yank it to me. I then wrap web strands around it securing it to my arm.

Noir: "It's crude but it's better than nothing."

I rush in towards Charlie. He sends a sonic blast at me. Lifting the manhole cover up it takes the blast. I'm scooted back and have my ears start to sting. But other than that I remain standing.

Noir: "It works. Time to end this."

I use my boosted speed to quickly close the distance between Charlie and I. I swing the manhole cover into his jaw. At the same time he snaps his finer sending a blast directly at my left ear. I scream in pain as I feel a liquid leak out. The manhole cover hits jaw in his jaw hard enough to knock him out. 

Noir: "Finally."

I drop him off at the police station. Now sitting on a rooftop I feel my ear to see blood was what was leaking out.

Noir: "It hurts but I ain't deaf. That's good I guess."
