"Where are you running off to?" Sidney asked when I ran into her while hurrying out of the literature building at New York University. I turned around to see her wearing black pants with a black button up, along with her white lab coat.

I could not help but laugh, "It looks like you just came back from a doctor's funeral." Sidney flipped me off, "I have dinner with Daisy and her husband."

"Are you serious? I thought you are trying to get over her?"

"That doesn't mean I have to avoid seeing her, our relationship isn't going to change." I squinted my eyes at Sidney who was pointing at me, not realizing she was pointing for me to look behind where I was standing.

"Hi Professor." May said while standing behind me.

"May" I looked back at Sidney who was laughing.

"I'll see you tomorrow." Sidney turned back around, walking away.

"I didn't know you were friends with her. She's my chemistry professor." May smiled, "Are you leaving? I was just coming to see you."

"Yeah I have dinner plans." May followed along side me as we started walking off campus. I felt awkward, I wonder if May was standing there the whole time Sidney and I were talking.

"Is Daisy the girl in the photo?" I turned my head towards May who was looking down at the ground.

"So you did hear." I sighed, "I'm meeting her and her husband for dinner tonight, want to join?" I thought bringing May along might make things a little less awkward or rather, more enjoyable. (So I thought).

May lifted her head up, "Okay!"

I was a little reluctant on this decision of mine, letting May join us for dinner. But it was better than being alone with Daisy and her boring husband.

It has been three months since I first met May, October came sooner than I thought. My novel is the least from being completed, I am not even half way done but it has only been a month since I started. And May is still working on the painting in the empty room at my house.

Lately, May has been spending multiple days at a time at my house, her clothes and paintings are slowly making their way into my house, little by little. May even started her own little section of clothes in my walk in closet and now brings home her paintings from school and hangs them up in the empty room with the other paintings. The other day when I got home late from work, May had hung up a painting right above the dining room table. I thought I would be upset with how she is slowly taking over my house, but I have no feeling of such.

Waking up every morning to her next to me, brushing my teeth next to her, making meals for two people, not drinking alone, hearing her complain about me smoking all the time, the times she brings me food while I am writing so I do not forget to eat. Even though she can be nosey and for the most part has no concept of personal space, I think I am slowly coming to like her.

May and I walked into the restaurant where we were meeting them at. As we walked up to the table, Daisy stood up from her chair,"Augie!" Daisy was wearing a dark red dress and her smile was bright as always.

"Hey, this is May. Hopefully you don't mind that I brought her along." I smiled as I sat across the table from Daisy who was sitting next to her husband, Ivan.

May sat next to me, "Nice to meet you."

"It's been a while Augie." Ivan smiled, "How have you been?"

"Fine Ivan, how's the job going?" Of course, Ivan asking the basic surface questions.

"It's been going great, I got a promotion. So Daisy and I are moving out of the old apartment soon."
