December 13th
I rushed into the building, following three other officers into the building. "He has hostages," said one of the other officers. "So be careful of what you say or do." Okay, you might be asking what's happening, and I'll tell you. I'm a decently ranked officer, and I'm a part of an operation that's supposed to take out this psychotic person who now has civilian hostages just upstairs. "Charlie," said the leading officer. "You go up there and try to negotiate with him. You're the one who's best at that in this group. If you need any help, just signal to the sniper a building over. He has eyes on the target." I nodded and went up the stairs. I carefully approached the door which the person was said to be behind. I knocked on the door and said, "This is the police. Open the door now or we will come in by force." I waited for a few moments, and there was no response. I repeated myself again, and there was still no response. I tried opening the door, but it was locked. I then decided to go with force. I kicked open the door, and held my gun up to him shouting, "This is the police, but your hands up!" He was just doing some tricks with his knife when I entered. I saw one hostage and a mannequin. I guess they got things mixed up. The hostage later on the floor, passed out. The only visible wounds so far were just some large bruises. I kept my gun up at his head and said, "Put your hands up, you are under arrest!" He only laughed a bit to himself and said, "You really think I'm going to listen to you? You're just a singular cop, and I have several weapons plus this person I abducted." "Oh really?" I said. "Do you also have a group downstairs, and eyes on you from outside?" This seemed to upset him and he looked outside for a moment before looking at me. "Well that's unfair," he said. He pulled out a gun, and shot it outside, and then pointed it at me. In the background I heard a large item hit the ground, so I'm assuming he somehow sniped the sniper. Damn. "Now then," He said. "We are a bit more even now." We then just stared at each other for a few moments, unsure of what to do. Then he broke the silence by saying, "Ya know, it would be a shame to kill you like this. You're not too shabby for someone in the lower levels of the police department who lives with one of her guy friends even though you two aren't even in a serious relationship." "How did you-" What the actual hell did this guy know, and how did I or Bucks not notice him? Well, Bucks probably noticed him but didn't care, but I've had it with this guy. I shot his hand which he had a gun in, and he dropped it as he shouted in pain. Then the other cops came bursting through the door. He quickly realized the situation, and jumped out of the window. "Dammit, the bastard got away!" the lead cop shouted in anger. He sighed and said, "Charlie, cross off the building and room. You two, get a paramedic for the ex-hostage and a crime scene detective." I nodded and went to the police car to get the invincible yellow police tape. I got out a half-used roll and went to go tape the crime room first. Believe it or not, taping off crime scenes takes a while. I then started to work my way around the building. When I was about to wrap up the back part of the building, a shady guy came walking up to me. He had one hand out and the other half tucked in a jacket. "I'm not interested in any of your crack cocaine or vapes or whatever shit you have under that jacket." I said to them. "Damn, I'm not trying to sell you any of that,"said the shady guy. "I'm more sophisticated and civilized than that. I have more important matters to discuss with you." I looked at him suspiciously, and he pulled out his hidden hand to reveal a paper in rather terrible condition. He handed me the paper, and as I examined it he said, "There is a job that you are eligible for, and you are being offered it. It is paid, as you can probably see the few zeros." Indeed yes, I could barely see a few zeros on the tattered paper, but I could tell it was a rather large sum. My guess was it said ten million! "If you're up for it, just go to the address given in it." he said. When I looked up I realized that he had disappeared. Strange. What if this was an illegal business? I decided that I would look into it, but hopefully not get involved.
