The power was off, that was the first thing everyone realized. "How smart is this thing?" Unit 2 said, turning on his flashlight. "Too smart, it knows we can't see well in the dark and we have limited vision," said Unit 9." There might be a radio in one of the labs or the armory," I said. "Let's check the armory first, that has a high chance of having a radio probably," said Unit 6. We went with that, and started going to where the armory was according to the map we had. We were a bit tense, ready to sprint or anything if that creature came around. Soon we were about 2 minutes from where the armory was, and we heard some loud footsteps not too far away. " The footsteps aren't close, so we should be fine. " said Unit Eleven. I could hear a slight tremble in his voice. We both knew he wasn't very far, and probably knew our exact locations. He's just trying to make things a bit lighter, and I respect that. Soon enough we were at the armory. There was a passcode you needed to get into it, but since the power was off we could just slide it open. We looked around the room to see if there was anything that could be of any use other than the guns on the racks. I found a latch that said, ' Emergency Use Only '. I flipped open the latch and said, " Guys, I think I found something useful other than a radio! " Units Nine, Eleven, and Six came over to see what it was. " Maybe this will do somethin' to that abomination. It looks like it could. " said Unit 6. I was in agreement with him here. This gun-shaped weapon came with a small lash that had what seemed to be its ammo on it. The ammo had sharp pointed tips on them. I took both items out, and put the ammunition into the gun. Some lights on it turned on, and some robotic voice said, ' Warming up.......please wait 10 minutes for the item to be of use '. " Well that's just great. We might as well be dead by then. " said Unit Six. " Don't get our hopes too low, we could survive that long. Hopefully. " I said in return. Unit Four came up to us, and held up a piece of paper. It showed where all the radios were in the building. There was one in the armory, but it was scratched out. I'm assuming that means that it's not functionable. "So there are some in the labs. That's somewhat helpful. And the closest ones are only 5 minutes away from here!" said Unit Nine, feeling a bit more confident about surviving. The lights then flickered a bit before turning on completely. This was pretty helpful, but then we heard something slide and click! I looked at the door, and saw that it had closed "Oh no no no." I said as I ran over to it and tried to open it. The passcode lock had been activated. "$#^&," I said. I looked around for anything I could use to pry open the door. There was conveniently a crowbar in a corner by me, and I went to grab it. However when I did grab it, there were several loud footsteps above us. We all froze. The footsteps stopped a little ways past me, and right by Unit Two. There was silence, and then I whispered, "Slowly come this way, and stay calm." He started to come my way, trying to stay calm and quiet, hoping that the creature wouldn't bust through the vents. He managed to make it about three fourths the way, and we all thought he was safe. There was a bit of relief in the room, but then the silence was abruptly broken by the ceiling being broken above Unit 2 with the creature falling down with it. Unit Two shouted as the creature took advantage of his position, but was quickly cut off. I ran back to the door and started to try to pry the door open. Unit 6 kept trying to get the weapon to work, but everytime it said "Warming up..........please wait 6 minutes for the item to be of use. ' This caught the attention of the creature, which came up to him and towered him. The creature growled, and swiped away the weapon, and it slid across the floor by Unit Eleven, who picked it up and put it in an empty gun holster. The creature then turned, and seemed to leave Unit 6 alone. A second later he bashed his tail into Unit Six's side with such force that he flung across the room, and hit the back wall. I heard him gag on his own blood as me and Unit Four tried to pry open the door. Units Eleven and Nine quickly came over, and a moment later the door slid open, and we ran out of the room. I heard the creature make a slight roar before pursuing after us. This was now a chase.
